i think they gambled on the guard depth leaving them someone in the late second and that immediately blew up in their face. Connor Williams was probably their last shot at an immediate starter and he was gone by pick 50. Still, they’ve got 3 solid starters and Nick Easton ready. If the guard situation feels real rough, Remmers could slide back inside and you put Hill at RT. Not an ideal lineup but I’m hopeful DiFlippio will find creative ways to compensate.

Man, the Lions backfield is going to be a bloodbath come the end of preseason. I wouldn't be surprised if they cut half the RBs they're carrying right now. And I'll bet Abdullah is a cut unless he really impresses.

I think they've only released 100-85 or something like that but the rest will come out shortly. I've been really interested to see who gets on this list and I'm already triggered hard by JJ Watt making it after he only played five games

I'm going to be really boring and serious and point out that drafting a bunch of (hopefully good) corners, having Clinton-Dix focus on playing his position instead of trying to cover for everyone else, signing a big talent on the defensive line, and on top of all that bringing in a new defensive coordinator who's well-known for being able to generate pressure on the quarterback without having dedicated top-end rushers. I think the FO believes a lot more in Nick Perry and Clay Matthews than most of the fans do, and are betting that the better pass coverage from the corners and the extra blocking pickups by Mo Wilkerson will help Matthews/Perry operate more effectively. Now, obviously, I don't know yet whether any of this will actually pan out, but that looks to be the Packers' approach to the pass rush question. And Gute also scored an extra first-round pick for next season, where it's widely believed to be a very strong draft class for pass rushers.

I think the pass rush issues of the past season can be attributed to how awful the coverage was, as that clip shows.

what more do you think the DB would do there? Treadwell is 6’3 and is stretching to make a one-handed catch. like, that play just seems like a good example of Clay still having moves but sometimes the opponent gets lucky.

It's almost impressive how the Lions continue to find new and innovative ways to make me miserable. I mean god drat, I'd love to believe he's innocent, and I doubt anything is going to happen, but this news is going to cast a pretty dark shadow every time I want to root for the team.
