Generally not a fan of digital dashes (yeah boo me), but the 323 dash very quick to read, and the 626 one while not as good for the tacho has that turbo lamp that's awesome. I need that 323 in my life so that's on my bucket list, researching now... Do you think a barra would fit?

Good first episode.

Wonder what the memory storage situation on that dash is, they got a traditional worm gear odometer and a digital trip odometer? Or were they required to run a "normal" odometer at that point in time?

# ? May 1, 2018 18:18 |

The ones I had all were old school mechanical odometers, but pretty sure the Z31 had a digital tripometer. That is a good question though, I can't remember the first time I saw the main odometer not be mechanical. 90s?

My Z31 had a very common issue where the entire cluster would just ~die~ out of the blue at a random time. Turned out it was a power unit that caused it and I eventually figured out giving a good solid whack under the steering column would generally bring it back, but with zero mechanical backups it was more than an inconvenience especially at highway speeds.

Hey dudes! May I post more dash stuff (self created)? My buddy took the "Teslonda" out and got some track time finally. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wq4xgOhBn1I With one of the runs he did that day; I pulled that data and replayed it on my development rig; here is an idea of what the dash would look like: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=d6BooMZ1xjE Sorry about the washed out colors from the last video but I think it conveys the idea pretty well. For those interested in the EV portion of things; watch the Voltage sag!!! Humble brag: Here is sneak peak of my dumb phone app that connects with the dash. (trigger warning: vertical video alert - it was intended for instagram. ) (e: the dash video; you can see his pedal position, kilowatt output, voltage/amp input from the battery pack and motor temps) (e2: added my phone app stuff) Professor of Cats fucked around with this message at 00:59 on May 3, 2018 |

Ha, you too huh? I eventually pulled the sending unit out of the car and reflowed the solder on the connector pins to fix it more permanently. ...and then the speedometer sending unit went out. Because at least ONE thing had to not work at all times.
