If those rumors are true, I wonder if the new Gorkamorka would be an entirely new game with it's own model range like Necromunda, or just a box with a bunch of Ork models in it and some rules you can use with them like Gangs of Comorragh. I'd kinda hope for the latter, I'd be worried about GW over spreading themselves too thin if they did yet another game

June/july being AoS with a brief spark of 40k with kill team seems entirely possible. On a related note bols (I know) has rumours about the knight castellan, it sounds a bit much if im honest with its s16 ap6 d10 gun and 3+3++ for ~650pts.

I'm going to a 1500 point tournament on Sunday. Just finished painting the entire army. I'm ecstatic to be able to stop painting scouts and go back to painting fun and interesting things (like another contemptor and leviathan). I do eventually want to do a third scout squad so I can run an entire battalion of them, but I won't be painting it until I make a list that requires it. Edit: Just finished making the fancy list I'll have printouts of to hand my opponents Booley fucked around with this message at 05:35 on May 18, 2018 |

Can anyone tell me if conversion beamers on relic contemptor dreads are worthwhile? I've been idly thinking about adding one with two c-beams to my army (primaris silver skulls) because they seem to be great long ranged anti troop / vehicle weapons. I never see anyone using one (in a list or on a youtube vid), but I still can't shake the idea.

xutech posted:Can anyone tell me if conversion beamers on relic contemptor dreads are worthwhile? They're not really very good. You've got 2 shots, generally at S8 AP-3 D2d3. Occasionally you'll get up to S10 D3d3, but staying outside 48" isn't super reliable. Your absolute max damage at the 24-48 bracket is 12, and averages against a t7 3+ tank has you doing 3.7 damage total, assuming you didn't move and it doesn't have any penalties to hit. A quad las contemptor, on the other hand, will do an average of 6.48 against either a t7 or t8 tank. Even if you're in the 48-72 range bracket you're doing 5.5 damage, and going from s9 to s10 doesn't help you against anything but a titan.

Would it make a good anti-infantry weapon though? it's got great range and it only has to kill one troop to do another 2d6 hits at s6. I see what you mean though, more lascannon, more flexible, even if you use them to kill lesser stuff.

I’ve always wanted to play primaris space marines ever since I started playing this game a decade ago, and with Deathwatch it looks like my dream could finally come true. If I don’t care about slicing huge chunks out of my thumbs replacing shoulderpads, is there anything in the Dark Imperium starter box Marine side that’s not useable? It looks like there’s a banner guy, but that’s just a snip and a gun away from another regular dude. And Gravis armor guy can be a terminator watch captain.

I’m not exactly sure what the Lord of Contagion is going to be doing aside from general backup. It’s a decent amount of points to put into a model and it sticks out as something that’s too slow to do much beside babysit the Poxwalkers with Typhus or suicide into backlines as a distraction. It’s got a decent back line and forward offense, seems like something to try and see what works and what doesn’t after a few games. I’ve come to love the Blighthaulers, as it allows your troops to forget bothering to grab cover on the way in but I can see where Bloat-drones take up a solid space too.
