I'm pretty sure Prequelle is the Last Jedi of Ghost albums. Personally I really dig it but I totally expect that some will be put off by it. It's very GnR, Megadeth, Dream Theater. It's interesting and a super fun record, but it doesn't have the lo-fi spooky doom vibe it used to. Now it's... covered in glitter and wearing tight pants? Something like that.

It’s subtle and complex in a fun way. It’s very much a progressive death metal album mixed with old Rush/Yes prog. Instead of doing the usual 500 ideas per second with a million different sounds they’re mixing a handful of ideas in cool ways. I like how it builds on and references itself. It’s very cohesive. Very listenable and well paced. Nothing wrong with not finding it amazing though. It took me a few listens to “get” the sound they were going for but it won’t be for everyone. It actually reminds me of recent Gojira albums in a certain way. That’s sure to rub some people badly itt but I love what these bands are doing on different levels of heaviness.

On the surface it's very good and every aspect sounds good, I can't deny it, but it's very in one ear out the other. Absolutely nothing about it sticks, much like their previous one. I repped Devoid of Light pretty drat hard, but the new Uada is a disappointment to me. It was worth listening to and wasn't terrible but seemed to be a huge step down from their debut.
