Yo Voté Feels good. I like living in California and can't imagine being anywhere else. I hope the underrepresented among us find relief in their lives in the coming years via real progressive changes, and I wish the best for everybody in this thread!

Nazi Little isn't even making the top 10! What happened? I was told he was going to make the runoff because de Leon is a waste and then win the general because Feinstein is a waste!

His fault in the first place. If he'd just pounded the printer when it started acting up....

Thank you for posting the DSA voter guide, it allowed me to find the comparable guide for San Diego and make better choices. What sites are best for watching statewide results tracking?

Only 36% reporting but De Leon is neck and neck for second place, fingers crossed. Villaraigosa is getting slaughtered by Newsom and Cox though, he'd need a miracle to make second.

It could just be something like the name and address columns overlapping, rendering them unreadable. And if you expect the printer to do a normal job, and get a big stack of rolls with the top ones looking fine, why would they necessarily be looking through each individual one until the day that they mattered if they had no reason to think any were bad? I've done complex mailouts through our print shop that, if it turned out a handful were botched, could have had major legal repercussions, and aside from the copy I got I never saw any others. You just assume that things aren't going to go wrong because they usually don't and have other things to worry about.

I think early results aren't very useful because they're not representative, guys. Presumably it's the districts with the fastest electronic vote tallys and/or the ones with the fewest votes to tally. And there's a LOT of absentee ballots these days, right? Wait till we're at like 70%+ before declaring doom/victory

Gotta say I'm pleased that a bunch of California voters got sick of requiring supermajorities for stuff and are, so far, voting Prop 70 down, 3-to-2.

At some point we need to have the elected officials actually do their job (good OR bad) and super majorities are a bad way to govern. Keeps the cookie jar of taxation slightly out of reach, but for all other things it's just an insane handcuff.

Looks like Measure C is going to comfortably defeat Measure B, which is fantastic because it means a bunch of out-of-town rich people pissed their money down the drain for nothing. Sucks that Measure C isn't really that much better of a development plan, but take what you can get I suppose.
