Yeah from the reports it sounds like he went into treatment on own early this year and now quit on his own. Possibly under the threat of being outed, but still, at least he's not denying it.

His admission is couched in weaselly terms, and it appears he tried to circle the wagons when this first started coming out. Someone on twitter posted some DMs he sent them where he bitched that he felt one of the victims was pursuing an agenda against a person he didn't feel he was, so gently caress him. Also confirmed goon and good person Kiva (isildur) is fully against him so that's basically all I need to know.

I just played two scenarios in Fed Suns space: the first saw my PC return to the cockpit due to heavy injuries among the C-team I'm working up. Hopped into a King Crab I built for long range (AC-10s and LRMs). First turn back in combat: headshot kill on an Atlas. Two turns later, I have her called shot the head of an Awesome and get a second headshot. Then we took a mission vs a pirate convoy. Four Schrecks plus two Highlanders and two Banshees, with me running a mixed Assault/Heavy lance. When the reinforcement warning came up, I opted to evac (after killing the convoy, of course) and had a fun jumping stern chase with the initial enemy lance. With more mission types and campaigns or mini-campaigns, this could be the last Btech game I need until the grand strategy one comes out.

everybody's all about glitch but has anybody ever picked up a pilot with the husky female russian voice? i have one in my squad and she's hilariously hammy, and she alternates between being completely incredulous at what's going on to being completely convinced death is certain

Picked up my first assault mech other than the story one... It's a Banshee.. Can't fit any real weapons on it so I turned it into PUNCHMASTER 6000! Two Melee Damage Mods, 4 Small Lasers, 4 JJ's... Let's see if this thing is even worth the tonnage that the grasshopper seems to do better.

Okay I think I'm nearly done with this game. I've got three fully kitted out lances for different difficulties, two full assault lances and one full heavy for recon missions. Sometimes I shake them up for funnies like throwing in a Jenner for the challenge. I've maxed out reputation for all the major factions with territory, except Taurians(?) and I guess the only thing left to do is to max all my pilots. Two lances of backers and one of Ronins. Though their skills are all varied so I can swap them around. I think double Awesome 8T and double Stalker lance is one of my favourites.

Keep posting all these awesome mods! I haven't played in a few weeks cause my performance has tanked so hard to be unbearable (I guess going 200+ weeks while hardly progressing the story will do that  ) so I think I'm going to mod the poo poo out of it and start over.And yes I do the usual housekeeping like pruning saves and selling most of my 800 medium lasers, but still the menus are atrocious.

wait...is obstruction not considered cover??? I assumed it was because, uh, why the hell isn't it? going hulldown in a tank is pretty standard, so I'd assume mechs would have the same

Obstruction decreases chance to hit. It just doesn't decrease damage even on hits.

The Inner Sphere mod and the Random travels Mods (which run together) make the sandbox mode the random mod introduces really good. Add in JKs Variants and Mharius weapons and it's like a totally different and brutal game.

I've been running a pretty hardcore no-story Inner Sphere Map campaign, and I'm barely getting by. It's really hard to find the money and mech bay time to restore salvaged mechs, when they come fully broken.

Yeah I'm running Broken Salvage, Inner Sphere Map, Random Travel Contracts (I did mod it so there were at least 2 contracts in each system), JK variants + Mharius weapons, Basic Panic, Pilot info (pop-up health counter in battle for health pips for enemies and allies), expanded info, less head hits, stop scrolling. It's always fun to come across an random pirate Lance with Gauss rifle +++ (85 damage Holy poo poo)
