There's definitely a market they aren't hitting with the Skyrim/FO4-type games but the market they are currently hitting makes them some of the most successful games ever made So yeah I'm not really sure why they felt the need to get in on the survival/battle royale trend in a major way

More details from Todd Howard today: no NPCs in fallout 76 there are still robots, holotapes, quests, but every human character is real running into raider gangs basically replaced by other players no completely offline mode, but you can choose whether you want to become involved with people… they’re trying to create an environment without griefing with certain incentives yet to be revealed it seems PVP will always be a present part of the gameplay & can’t be avoided entirely, he was a bit dodgy with revealing stats will still be present in some way as a way of making alternatives for people who aren’t good at shooters no mods at launch PvP always being on? No thanks. also this is going to be microtransactioned out the loving rear end, I can feel it

If it's just going to be "go here, kill ghouls" "go here, get salvage" then nevermind. During the e3 presentation they said story was going to be a big part but I don't know how that's going to be the case if there are no npcs

All the disappointment over Fallout 4 is somewhat relieved by the Doom trailer. Just do the first game over with the same sound design. Keep the action tight. Change the scenery. Maybe this Fallout is Bethesda's Fallout: Tactics. Squad based tactical games were big when that dropped. Battle Royale games are now. The internet just makes everything worse. I just want to play my RPG - get a doggy companion and escape, for however brief it is, the normal world and just enjoy the game and story.

Right now it looks like a sci-fi walking simulator, hopefully he’ll build up to it soon. Regardless we got new Doom, new Wolf, Free Prey DLC, and a new Elder Scrolls announcement. The gameplay trailer for Rage 2 looks pretty good too.
