Bendis and Marquez’ first arc on Iron Man was one of the coolest, lightest things I’ve read in years. Slott’s first issue on Iron Man reads and looks like the definition of anti-cool. It feel like utterly forgettable visually sleep-inducing stuff somebody found in a vault somewhere. And who’s got problems with Aaron’s Avengers?

Sometimes I feel after Secret Wars ended, after the initial diversity initiative and progression, a bunch of it was throwing darts and half rear end things at the wall and seeing what stuck. Infinity Warps if it is a funny event may be okay. But the designs outside of ArachKnight are lame.

I just got home from work and had a chance to read the X-Men Gold issue. I'm glad I was able to avoid spoilers because reading that final twist and then seeing the splash page advertising the new series was awesome. I'll be picking that up for sure.
