One in four surveyed Japanese workers admits to wanting to kill boss; Osaka quake helps show why

...

It’s the kind of traumatic event you would expect bosses across the country to sympathize with. And yet, from Twitter poster @mgr_toki: “Once it was clear my boyfriend couldn’t get to work, he came home to email his supervisor about it and they promptly replied with 'Please walk to the office to receive your wages for the day.' It took him an hour of walking to reach his workplace, where at noon all the staff were told to evacuate the building and return home, which took another hour’s walk. There’s something seriously wrong with Japan!“

And from @charlotte_delta: “Typical scene at a “black company” post-quake:

Worker: Hello, who’s calling?

Boss: Thanks for your work today. I noticed you didn’t submit your report. Is everything okay?

Worker: T-There was an earthquake t-

Boss: The deadline is tomorrow, alright?

This is just how it is with big corporations.

In particular it’s how it was with the big corporation I worked at, Ni**hin."

@AyAri_cat tweets: “When the earthquake hit I got an email from my boss. It said: 'Is everyone safe? All staff, please respond to this email to ascertain your safety.' So far so good, right? The next line: 'Are you able to attend work today? Can you do business? If so, please let us know.' Japan is a country of wage slaves.”

Now that hero president Donald Trump has executive ordered the child detention crisis out of existence, we can turn our attention to the wider issue of the separation of Americans from their families through the imposition of work.

I'm all about Chuck being terrible but reinforcing that this was totally an executive branch policy and forcing Trump to own it is good, even if it was the people and not the dems that forced Trump to back down. The fact that Trump didnt actually fix anything is a seperate issue that they now should go after.

Sighing and letting the Republicans use this as a hostage situation to agree to terrible legislation would have been and still would be bad.

the point is that having Trump undo it accomplishes nothing because he can just redo it as soon as reporters stop paying attention

executive actions don't have permanence because they're trivial to reverse, which means a Trump executive order is not going to be very effective at blocking Trump from sliding into fascism

20 days from now, a court's gonna rule that the current policy of jailing families together is illegal, so Trump will go right back to family separation and claim the courts forced him to. also, in the meantime, he's not reuniting the families that have already been separated, and isn't required to since the executive order doesn't retroactively cover the already-imprisoned

Chuck absolutely blew the messaging by insisting that immigrant treatment wasn't the Senate's problem, instead of demanding a clean bill to protect immigrants and portraying the GOP as complicit in Trump's abuses. and that failure is absolutely gonna come back to bite him

You're right (see, almost the entirety of the Obama administration) but we're also at the point where Trump can just blatantly ignore congress and suffer no consequences. Remember those Russian sanctions that passed like 97-1?
Literally, the only way out of this mess without a full-on armed insurrection is to rely on the dems to not only win back both chambers but then use it to hold Trump and the GOP accountable.

Stop thinking that Schumer or succ dems care about crimes against humanity, because they don't. The only thing that's gonna stop concentration camps is direct action. Dems are useless & complicit.

They couldn't help but celebrate Israel gunning down unarmed civilians, so I'm not sure why people think they give two shits about a different group of impoverished, non-white people seeking a better life and human dignity.

the Dems aren't gonna do poo poo for immigrants, though, they're just going to defend the current status quo

Schumer in particular has not put any effort into cultivating an image as a friend of immigrants, given the way he threw DREAMers under the bus and then had protesters arrested. and now that Trump is thoroughly pissing off immigrant rights advocates, he's gonna be convinced that the Dems are now assured the pro-immigrant vote even if they do nothing
