Just got out of a game on Alterac where on the third objective, everytime we tried to channel it would crash the game for ~5 seconds or so and we would all disconnect (including the enemy team). But the other team could channel fine. We ended up using boss to win instead but that was extremely strange.

That would be true torment. This is funny cause me and a bunch of others wish that the arcade conditions were changed in Overwatch so that the lootboxes just required games played instead of wins. Of course over there you have to win 9 games instead of playing 2-3 and sometimes that can take forever if you can't get a winning game

I think brawls in Overwatch are fine because you can choose between a couple of them. And one of them is always Mystery Heroes which is random map with a random hero every time you respawn. That leads to bullshit situations like the enemy team having a healer that never dies or Torbjorn locking down a map because nobody can kill his turret. But at least it lasts shorter than most HotS brawls and you know that somebody like a Hammer or a Chromie might not be a constant nuisance. HotS has a smaller playerbase and you don’t want to split the playerbase too much, but I still think it would be better if Trial Grounds was available all the time: https://heroesofthestorm.gamepedia.com/Trial_Grounds

I've noticed a severe uptick in Rexxars over the course of the past week and a half, and the team that has Rexxar usually wins. Is Rexxar secretly good now?

Always check hotslogs to remove the variance of your small sample size. Filter hotslogs, of course, to make sure you're not seeing small sample sizes or different populations (e.g. bronzes mixed with diamonds) Rexxar is 5th highest wr right now, all population + last 7 days. Expand that to past 3 weeks and he drops to 17th, but still 51.9% He's in the top 1/3rd of the roster with a 52.8% in Diamond + Master, 10th with 53% in Plat + Gold. Seems good.

I think Rexxar has been able to do boss early since his release. The question has always been if you should take boss early just because you can. It is usually pretty obvious, because he'll gone for a while and his lane opponent should know that is a clear sign that Rexxar is taking merc camps. After all, he is not the kind of guy who waits in a bush for the perfect gank.

also what is up with the thing in the blizzard app that tries to get you to watch specific players on twitch when it pops up on mine it's a girl 90% of the time, and the only time it wasn't recently it was a guy who was shown cutting up a steak at a dinner table instead of a mug shot of them wearing a headset???

I'm going to take a look at my logs, but I don't think I've EVER seen Probius picked. I have no idea how to support or counter it - I guess you just hard-engage or dive and blow it up? Also, I want a Protoss Carrier specialist. And Bastion. Make it happen, Blizzard.

I would totally recommend checking out hots streamers. Compared to league streamers, they are much more chill and conversational. Also, its pretty nice doing viewer games with pro tier players. And sometimes they do great stuff too. Hosty, from the HGC team Simplicity, played a QM with my six year old this morning and it was super lit.

The promoted Twitch streams I've seen on the launcher seem to be 50/50, if anything skewing slightly towards men. I do tend to notice the women more, just because I'm a lonely neckbeard and there is a strong history of stuff like this being dominated by people like me.

Polio Vax Scene posted:Cassia is great get outta here She is like the assassin version of Malfurion or Lunara. You have to be on top of your poo poo. You "spam" (but not randomly and to no effect) your poke, land your dive skills when it's time to follow up (or they do nothing), and you are heavily invested in the position/movement game. I really like playing her with thunderstrokes. Her blind/jab build isn't worth it unless you are drafting as a team and have someone else with blinds the accommodate you. It shines then, but otherwise people will walk out of your blind before it even casts, or if they are lazy just walk out before you do any damage. I find Malf extremely tedious, but enjoy playing Lunara and Cassia. I don't know why. It's really the same playstyle.\ edit: In all seriousness I get like 5 recommended streamers from the blizzard app, and one of them is the steak dinner guy. I don't have enough free time to watch people play the game that I want to play, and I don't think their suggestions are sexist or anything. Just comedic and like it's Blizzard, they can do better than that. Even if I watched twitch, loving Steak Guy would inspire zero confidence or interest in me doing so. It is a circus of sharts. Who the heck is 'steak dinner guy'? I like watching HotS streamers(mostly the TGN Squadron lot) and they make nice background noise while I work. My Battle.net app is just showing Selenityy right now, which is cool because I like her and if Blizzard are making an effort to showcase more female streamers that's great by me.

The payout on loot boxes is actually pretty good. Not clear if it's a random draw or an algorithm or what, but over the course of the last week and a half they've been doing it, I've gotten like 5-6 boxes from a total of maybe 8-10 hours of streams. And a fair amount of that time was keeping a stream running in the background while I did something else. Otherwise it's 3 hours to get a rare box and 6 to get some meaningless portraits.

Selenityy is one of them and yeah her stream seems pretty good. Good stuff from Blizz there.

Yeah he's master but sometimes he gets incredibly tilted and that just tanks his performance, and this is without the trolls in his games. I say it more as a joke since I enjoy watching the guy and want him to be happy with the game. He clearly knows his stuff and has the game knowledge, but there are times when he makes lovely plays like dragonblading at 25% health and diving under their towers. I guess I put Mewn at the bottom tier of master streamers, next to Procraft, as the streamers that are sometimes mentioned as the people to watch, while the more recommended and recognized are BamBam, Grubby, Fan, Psalm, Alex, Chu8, and a few other streamers that may or may not be pros as well.
