Alita 1-9 are on comixology unlimited so if you want to read some of it (legally) before committing you can get a trial and check it out that way.

this just showed up and this is it, we've hit the logical, dark conclusion of animequote:My hugging pillow turned into a really beautiful girl?! (She's not fake, she's human!) Note I have not read it nor want to, nor am I actually recommending it, but boy, I can't imagine a more bottom of the barrel concept

I've read the whole OG Alita already and I don't know if I'd actually read the latter series right now anyway I mostly just love to post that editing GITS is bad

I'm looking for really good gunfights: the anime. Something like Heat/Ronin/John Wick/100 bullets. Bonus points for some spycraft/detective work. Anything?

gunslinger girl is basically anime leon the professional, decent gunfight wise ghost in the shell is an obvious suggestion, gunfights are somewhat rare but whenever they happen they have great impact. probably the best of this list. plenty of detective work too bean bandit/gunsmith cats both have decent gunfights. if you're a gunnut the entire series is filled to the brim with good poo poo non porn version of a kite has great gunfights, do not bother with the sequel sabegabu/c3-bu are both moe gunfights. the first is the vastly better of the two although its probably too comedic to really count. the second has a nice jazz soundtrack but is otherwise unremarkable outside of a few balling sequences military style you got jormugand/cat poo poo one/black lagoon. can't really go wrong with any of these i have not seen canaan myself since its prequel isnt translated yet, but i heard that one is good too if you somehow get through all of this without being sated bee train has a girls with guns trilogy styled after the girls with guns film genre originating in hong kong oh and lupin of course, plenty of gun fights in that series, but its more cartoony bond style

Seconding Canaan and Black Lagoon re: awesome gun battles. There's also that one scene is Madoka Magica: Rebellion.

Hellsing Ultimate and Fate/zero both have some good gun action, though in the latter it's usually guns vs. magic and not guns vs. guns.

noir has the best gunfights of the girls with guns trilogy but is probably the least 'good' of the three. el cazador is the best of the three but has the worst gunfights. gun gale online is a video game set one but it has some really good gunfights if you're okay with game mechanics like every bullet having an obvious tracer round/some indestructible terrain occasionally being used being a factor in them Endorph fucked around with this message at 03:02 on Jun 26, 2018 |

Noir is really bad and so is every other Bee Train anime I’ve seen. Pacing like watching paint dry, ugly visuals and lots of still frames, and more or less incoherent narrative. Yuki Kajiura’s soundtracks are probably the only reason anyone still remembers any of them.

# ? Jun 26, 2018 03:11 |

Yeah but the soundtracks are real good

Cazador is good imo, it has a nice relationship between the leads and a decent setting. Its not really good for the reasons the trilogy was created, though.

I'm a huge fan of Bee Train anime personally, they're really slow and off the wall but I enjoy them a lot when I'm in the right mood for that. Also yeah the soundtracks are A++. I thought the gunfights in Madlax (especially the first episode) were a lot better than the ones in Noir tbh.

A bit late but one of the highlights of Hellsing is Seras taking full advantage of her vampiric strength and constantly wields ever larger guns to the point that isn't so much a soldier but an artillery piece.

I just finished the first two parts of Muv Luv and was wondering if there were any anime or manga (or anything really) that has the same 'people just living their lives while huge events they don't have any real involvement in happen' feel that Unlimited does?

I haven't played the Muv Luv games, but I read the Planetes manga a while ago, and that sounds pretty similar in parts? Someone else could probably tell you if I'm right or not. There's a Planetes anime too, but I'm not sure how it compares.

Oh yeah that's actually not that far off, I've seen the Planetes anime but not read the manga so I should rectify that.

Especially since they're military musicians and not really soldiers.
