No, not mansplaining, explaining. But since you're desperate to twist words and construe any explanation that way, you and Asher are keeping good company.

I'll spell it out for you - Asher Wolf makes poo poo up and puts it in articles and tweets, typically lies of exaggeration, or imagining into existence intent and words to support it where none existed. I think they'd pushed a small fee on the use of plastic bags to disincentivize people getting fresh plastic bags while I lived there, which was over a decade ago for context.
There was serious talk about an out and out ban the year I left Canberra (for good, I hope).

Yeah here in WA I heard talk of a bag ban back in 2007-2008. Never eventuated, I wonder what made things different this time.

Oh that's right, Blue Planet 2 and it's torture porn of animals choking on plastic bags. Which is not new at all - I remember seeking a video of a turtle getting stuck on plastic crap back at Underwater World in the mid-90s.

Yes. Yes it is. Because "people need to change their behaviour" is easy enough to accept, but rarely translates into "I should change my behaviour" unless it's enforced by rules, bans, fines, etc.

Turns out my work has a stash of bags and I've taken to reminding my colleagues at lunchtime because apparently wherever I go I'm everyone's bloody mum.
