I'm impressed the centrists still have enough cash to shovel in their campaigns that Crowley had a 10-1 funding advantage and Ocasio-Cortez still won.

Ocasio Cortez is basically the exact candidate we hoped would materialize from an energized progressive base after Trump won. After 2 years of insanely milquetoast Dem leadership in response to trump's presidency, this feels real good

I've actually sat in on Kings Dem meeting where Nixon spoke and she didn't entirely convince me. Anyone here got any points other than beating my enemy Andrew Cuomo? Wanna volunteer for something since I was too lovely to go out for Ocasio.

Just got up and saw that Ocasio-Cortes won, been yelling out "no loving way" to no-one in particular all morning. Crowley got Cantored, fucker was too smug to bother debating his primary opponent, from No 2 in the House to loving nobody.

Awesome for Ocasio, great job everyone who campaigned! Pretty hilarious Trump thinks it was because Crowley wasn't nice to him.

In NY-19 news, Delgado won pretty handily. I'm surprised the racists around here would elect a black guy but it's nice to see. Let's hope he can beat that prick Faso.

Was Delgado the preferred candidate in 19? I didn't follow that race much. Looks like Max Della Pia won in 23. Mitrano was endorsed by wfp and Golden was endorsed by justice dems and nypan. MDP is former military and has high potential to be a baddem based on his stated positions but he probably has the best chance at beating Reed in November.

Delgado started early with his advertising, honestly. None of the candidates were stand out amazing, but he lives in my hometown so he got a big boost in my (small) district and I guess had better name recognition elsewhere.

I'm hoping that one of the progressive candidates gets it in this district (which is mine) because gently caress Faso right in the butt. I don't know though, there are a lot of chuds out in the boondocks of the district, and I'm not sure Kingston can carry it, especially if they start pulling out the socialist carpetbagger stuff on whoever gets the nomination. Got my fingers crossed though.

In September, I will have competitive races for both state senate and state assembly.

State Senate: Jessica Ramos vs Jose Peralta. Ramos is running as a “true blue” Democrat and against Peralta’s IDC shenanigans.

https://twitter.com/jessicaramos/status/1012523897349181440

In the state assembly, there’s the new incumbent Ari Espinal who was handpicked by Moya when he left for city council. As far as I can tell she is completely useless.

She’s facing two challengers - Catalina Cruz, and Yonel Lettellier-Sosa

There’s not any good reporting on the policy differences between them but I’ll do some digging and check back

My districts are pretty boring. Albany is extremely Dem-leaning and none of my reps have any significant challengers inside or outside the party, as far as I can tell.
