Is it possible to get custom enamel pins? My archery club would like to start giving out pins for 1st, 2nd and 3rd class achievements but uk prices are a bit steep for a club on a budget.

Yes, it'll cost you maybe $1 or 2 per pin plus like a hundred bucks one off for 'mold making' from a store on Alibaba - as far as I can tell this is where all pins come from anyway (see http://www.pingamestrong.com/faqs/ , this guy might be a good 'go-between' if you're not comfortable with producing the art / contacting a factory direct etc, the FAQ is very comprehensive) https://www.alibaba.com/showroom/custom-lapel-pins.html I looked i to getting a small run done, saw the 'dollar each' and thought to enquire, only then did the mold price come up. I didn't fancy that for a fun personal project but if you have a budget its doable - though you may need a mold for each achievement pin? there are the folks I dropped an ask on https://www.alibaba.com/product-detail/China-Cheap-Factory-Price-Custom-Hard_60736040076.html?spm=a2700.7724857.main07.278.77f14c02W4dYEj quick to reply and good english. I ordered some "wool" yarn from Ali Express to see what the quality was like. It's terrible acrylic, like much worse than I have ever seen for sale in the US, Canada, or UK. It feels like a milder form of touching insulation. I'm not too surprised or disappointed (I spent only a few dollars to find out) but now I/we know for sure. I also ordered cotton embroidery floss. It's the same as getting non-DMC floss in the US/Canada (never bought it in the UK). The same stuff as far as I can tell. I just tested it and it's color fast. I keep getting adverts on Facebook for something called the Doki Doki subscription box which looks like a pile of japanese themed poo poo from AliExpress shoved into a cute pink box. $30 a month. I wish I had thought of this business idea to sell pikachu socks at a huge markup.

Easy way around the mould cost would be to reuse the same pin in different colours (or different metals) for different levels. You pay for one mould, but reuse it for multiple batches of pins.

I was thinking that too, then I found a local trophy maker selling exactly that for £1.25 each for 20+, ideal for what we wanted.

I have a gigantic semi-padded one that also goes underneath my keyboard because I'm a cretin that pounds on the Cherry Green keys with the force of a thousand trained-on-typewriter fingers and it feels nice. Plus it makes a nice work surface while doing desktop projects.

There's lots of results. Also Google the same for printers in your area and see if they are the same price. At least, it looks like that's who has the digital embroidery machines. Garment printers. I tried adding an example item to my cart and changing the "ship to" country from Australia to various other contries and observed no price difference or "GST Collected: " lines appearing. I strongly suspect they'll either just outright refuse to collect GST, or try to push collection to the individual sellers.

In cart the price will be the same, when you click buy and before you pay, the total price is 10% more. The app doesn’t include a line for the tax so you have to know why the price is being jacked up. Example: $2.32 item becomes $2.55 including $0.23 tax DRINK ME fucked around with this message at 09:39 on Jul 3, 2018 |

Someone mentioned this earlier in the thread, but I, too, think I'm doing Ali Express wrong. I feel like if they're going to send me something from China, and if I need X, Y, and Z, I should try to buy it all at the same shop. I need a toilet brush + holder, slim-fit trash can ("waste bin" on AE), large towels (bath sheet size), bathroom floor mats... Might pick up a few more cute fridge magnet clips for notes. Right now I'm adding the things I like to my cart and then searching in each seller's shop for the similar things I want to buy (hence the two belts from the same shop and two pieces of jewelry from the same shop), but it just seems to take forever. Any ideas on this? BTW, since I'm new to AE, here's what I've ordered so far. I'll update when anything arrives. It's pointless to try to bundle. The UPU cheap shipping only covers packages up to a certain size and weight, so if you're package is bigger than the limit the shipping costs jump. I've bought too many of an item from a shop and split it into two orders because shipping was cheaper that way. Buy 2 of this thing and shipping is free, buy 4 of the thing and there is a charge for shipping, unless you make 2 2-thing orders. That seems real dumb, right? It's because the nearly-free shipping is exploiting a loophole that was never intended for commerce. It was intended so people in countries with low wages and low cost of living could use the mail service to communicate with people in affluent countries without needing to spend a weeks wages to send a letter. China has always been in the 3rd world postal pool with countries like Botswana so they got the super cheap postage. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Universal_Postal_Union#Current_Issues
