Fyi it's not exactly celebrating Bastille day(1789) it's also celebration the feast of the confederation 14th of July, 1790(the march in front of Louis XVI before he went to the Guillotine a few year later), because we never stated which one of the two 14th of July event we actually celebrated in the Law and at the time the royalists didn't want the national day to be Bastille day, it's only called that in the lazy anglo-saxon world.
So every year, we have the president watching a military march like Louis XVI.

I am still proud of England for coming in 4th after years and years of underperforming at the WC/Euros despite incredible talent, but I am gutted that we didn't get to see France/England in the final.

Peripherally, I am happy for Belgium doing so well as they are enjoying something of a Golden Generation right now, and that's not common for such a small country. Wales had that at Euro, which was otherwise absolutely horrible, but sadly they couldn't replicate that success in a global event.

Pretty much. Really vintage.

I've been watch debates in the Assemblée for a fair bit and poo poo has gotten downright farcical. Every opposition group is using points of order to interrupt the debates on constitutional reform, which has forced LREM members and their allies to defend themselves, except most of the people here at the moment are massively inexperienced and so they just keep eating poo poo, which is hilarious on its own, but meanwhile there's more poo poo coming out about Benalla and so it keeps spiraling on and on like a clusterfuck tornado of procedure.
