Yeah, I remember hearing about an idea to gene drive mosquitoes to kill off their ability to transmit malaria. Hadn't heard of doing it to just kill them off entirely. I'd be all for it, if it weren't for the feeling like trying that would have a host of unforeseen consequences. At least until it can be a bit better refined, I guess.
