The interesting thing is more that they included Biden at all, since it wasn't a presidential poll or a 2020 poll - it's a general issues and opinions poll, with a single random-rear end "would you vote for Trump or Biden" question thrown in the middle.

The reason we're not hearing about the rest of the poll is that reporters are only talking about the questions whose results were favorable for Dems. And given that they're only talking about a few questions on an 18-page poll, that doesn't bode well.

For instance, the poll asks voters what category of issues is most important to their voting preferences, and the top answer by a significant margin was "Economic Issues". The poll then asks voters which party they trust more to handle each category of issues - and on both "the economy" and "jobs", voters favored Republicans, 45-37. The second-ranking answer on the priorities list was "Security Issues", and voters prefer the GOP for that one too, by a 14-point margin.

It then asks voters how important various issue proposals are. The most popular proposals were passing healthcare reform and reducing the federal budget deficit, both of which had almost no opposition. The least popular proposals, and the only two which failed to break 60% support, were building a border wall and investigating Trump's Russian connections.

Of course, the quality of the polling itself is up for debate, given that the demographics seem pretty skewed. Whites and boomers are significantly overrepresented in their sample compared to the general population, and there's more Midwestern participants than Western participants despite the West having a higher population.

Yeah it's nice watching different factions of fascists within the GOP, with slightly different opinions on how to bring fascism to America, go to sort-of war with each other, even if it's ultimately not going to amount to much (by which I mean, it's not going to derail either faction). Mostly because it distracts them a bit.

But, it's important to remember that's what you're watching, lest you trick yourself into thinking you're watching someone defend democracy.

Crowley not dropping out of that race, and not getting called out by anyone that has been calling for democrats to unify behind the winner of primary, is kinda connected with the thing you posted actually.

The hashtag resistance people will talk themselves into voting for Trump, easy. They only hate him because he humiliated them, but having an actual leftist like Bernie win would be an even greater humiliation because that would be proof positive that they were wrong all along.

Plus Bernie might raise their taxes.

The context was those lanyard types carrying water for Charles Murray, a man that argued we shouldn't provide any services to the poor because it would only encourage them to breed and that immigrants were inherently intellectually inferior to their native born American counterparts. They are fascists they just haven't come out of the closet yet.

If the core of your world view is that you live in a meritocracy you'll eventually naturally conclude that any group that is doing poorly is in some way inferior.
