I liked the last few seasons. The ones in Germany, pakistan, and usa were good or at least built up to something interesting.

The Pakistan season is as good as a season 1. The show really became good again, but I still haven’t watched anything after the Germany season.

So I saw that the Chris Gethard Show got cancelled, and it was something I had been meaning to watch. I am like ten minutes into the episode with Paul Sheer and Jason Mantzoukas amd holy poo poo if the rest of it is half as good as this I need to watch this immediately.

You've jumped in on probably the best unscripted hour of comedy ever broadcast, spread the word on that ep though as it deserves to live on forever.

Same, sometimes the bad episodes were the best episodes too!

Episode 1 even is fantastic, and the sheer low-tech joy and bitter rivalries with other public access hosts are the best and could never be recreated. I liked the 'real TV' episodes too, but it was a slightly different beast (first year was too different, 2nd and onwards started getting the spirit back especially with the TruTV years) but the PA years were amazing. I personally watched episodes from the original batch alongside Fusion ones when I started getting into it, so I could at least stay current while going through the backlog. The public access torrent seems to be dead sadly, but YouTube is nearly as good for sure.

Did anyone check out the Lodge 49 premiere last night? Just watching it now and it’s real promising, has kind of a John From Cincinnati vibe except way more accessible (although that could easily change). Also didn’t realise they already put the entire season online! AMC’s website in the US and Prime in the UK.

It's much better than the Gilmore Girls Netflix abomination. I thought it was weird that Amy Sherman would do shows for two different companies at the same time but I think she just wanted the Netflix deal for a payday.

I could rewatch it every month if I really wanted. I watched the pilot several times in the time it took Amazon to actually get the rest of the series out. It helps that it's relatively short.

That pilot is so loving good. I got a ton of people hyped for MMM with it who didn't like Gilmore Girls in any way. It does have the Amy Sherman-Palladino problem that it is literally impossible to make the show sound appealing when you tell someone about it. "It's a show about a jewish housewive and she decides to do standup! And it's set in the 50's! And they talk really fast!"

not :same: but I respect your opinion!! It was better than the ASP-less season at least, and I appreciated them going kinda going whole hog on Rory being a piece of poo poo b/c she was always an entitled brat.

I was about to wonder if maybe Ruby Rose is better suited to TV than movies-- plenty of actors who are not very good end up working well on TV if they're charismatic enough-- but then I remembered she was on Orange is the New Black and easily the worst part of her season lmfao.
