Indeed a terrible graph. Bread is not a natural food for birds and can make them sick. Sane environmental organizations advice that if you really want to feed birds, give them small vegetables such as peas.

Sane environmental organizations advice that if you really want to feed birds, give them small vegetables such as peas. it's my understanding that the problem isn't inherent toxicity in bread, it's that bread tastes good and people throw enough of it at birds that they can satisfy their entire caloric needs with it, which leads to vitamin deficiencies and poo poo because bread is not designed to be the only thing anyone eats. the end result is still "stop feeding bread to birds, give them things with more nutrients," of course.

If they started with Wikipedia they would have seen this awful chart implying that Q clearance is in fact a superset of TOP SECRET clearance. This may technically be true, but classified information works on a need‐to‐know basis. Someone working on nuclear weapons doesn’t need to know palace intrigue.

Platystemon posted:If they started with Wikipedia they would have seen this awful chart A hell of a lot of people don't know how security clearance works at all. They think that if you have TOP SECRET clearance then you can just walk into literally any facility, flash your badge, and go wherever you want, whenever you want, to get any information you could possibly desire. So a level higher than that! Wow! That's like SUPER ULTRA DARK MEGA TOP DOUBLE SECRET so they must have access to really crazy stuff. I mean, you hear about people with TOP SECRET clearance all the time but you NEVER hear about Q so it must be rare! Except that how it works in the real world is that if you have TOP SECRET and nothing else then you get literally nothing. All that means is "yeah pretty sure we can trust this guy." Then you get clearances for only those things you should be seeing; need to know basis like you said. For the Department of Energy well loving yeah you want the dudes to be vetted to hell and back if they're going to be prodding at your nuke plants. Or your electricity infrastructure in general. That's, you know, important and will definitely get attacked if somebody wants to hurt us so loving right we want to clear feds working on that sort of thing but no the nuclear power plant inspector does not need access to top secret military plans. Why the gently caress would he?

I've read a few times that apparently the person who came up with all the different password rules in the nineties has since repented, but it's too late now. We're stuck with them. At work I definitely follow the password35 -> password36 process. What's a hacker going to do anyway, do my job for me
