Other than the guy spraying on it while it's still moving poo poo around and a distinct lack of guarding to prevent somebody falling off/getting wrecked if the machine kicks one of those out what am I missing?

Spraying/strapping should be done by a machine naturally but this doesn't seem that terrible as far as a manual process goes.

Is it a good idea to do that while it's glowing red-hot? Seems like reaching around/into that would be potentially hazardous...

it's not the safest way to do things and wouldn't fly in europe or the states but honestly so long as you've got gloves and aren't clumsy it's fine

one of those :stonk: moments in chinese manufacturing where dudes reaching into a running machine or hazardous area is a normal part of the process

Just need proper PPE and it would need to be secured better than that probably, also some machine guarding where it actually kicks out and railing on that edge you can see. People work around molten metal in plants like those and that color red, while hot, is not "ohfuck why are you near this without aluminized gear". Proper fire resistant gear which i dont think left guy has, though right hand guy looks like he may be wearing it would be enough.

Any self respecting place would automate strapping or spraying on a label in the states though. A general goal is to automate as much as can be automated since wherever humans are involved they will gently caress up eventually no matter how safe you try to make it and people getting hurt is expensive.

Yeah left guy shouldn't have been spraying on it or been in the general vicinity while the machine is in motion depositing huge chunks of very hot metal. Guy on the right waited until it was done to move in and strap it though!

It's applying the silicon valley motto of move fast, break things to cars which already move fast and when they break things it results in a human body against a jersey barrier.

I would probably have cut it out, clean cuts heal quicker than the tearing actions of pulling it or trying to turn it out. In the same way when you have a large metal splinter in your hand you cut a slice for it to exit rather than trying to pull it back the way it came in.
