I think the interesting thing is that for the poor, the next crash isn’t going to change their circumstances dramatically, they’re still poor and probably going to starve to death if they miss a pay check /get sick
the real problem is going to be the indebted middle class with plenty of mortgage and credit card debt to sustain their lifestyle without years of pay rises

now when they get hurt, I could imagine society will implode/ get facist

Yeah it's great for rent seeking and other ways of skimming money off of average workers.

Great if you were rich enough to do a but in the 2008 crash for both stocks and also foreclosed homes like what Blackrock did in CA.

if you want to say we're still in a recession you have to either plug your ears and cover your eyes or redefine "recession" so that it means something other than what it means (much like austrian economists and people in this thread want to redefine "inflation")

I think it'll be something like

market crash
housing values plummet
mass layoffs
millions declare bankruptcy
banks collapse

then either

banks get bailed out

or

depression

rent takes like 35% of my after tax paycheck, i try to save a bit in the retarded hope that it'll mean something one day (it wont), contribute to the pension fund (it'll get raided) and whats left is...not a lot. still well off compared to my friends because im finally debt free since last year. dont have to extrapolate much to figure out how much of a drain on the economy it is to not have discretionary income to spend on actual stuff for an entire generation

Is it possible he's just playing devil's advocate unnervingly well? It's a useful rhetorical device account of many people we love and or barely tolerate in real life just so happen to be that loving stupid, unironically, and don't see it as the life/death situation it all actually is.

Eh, it's more like the opposite on these forums, most posters I've seen employ sarcasm in a manner that allows a reasonably intelligent reader to discern their true intention from the post, often with smilies and conspicuously succ and/or fascist language. Dear god, I wish there was a way to distill all this poo poo into a loving book accessible to plebs such as parents and bosses. Lmfao at pissy teenagers being objectively correct this whole time.

I almost love/hate to say this, but my dad lost the family home in 08 to a reverse mortgage + working in the home construction industry. He was homeless until I graduated college and took him in with some of my stoner buddies in a big rental in Detroit, where he could be close to odd jobs he could do under the table for a rich rear end property owner guy he knew from his working days, and we didn't make him pay rent for two years until one of my friends moved out.

When I told him I was giving a couple old ladies a ride to the DSA meeting this weekend he started yelling about "Socialism doesn't work" and "Enjoy your Stalin meeting"
