ENT Impulse is the most ship-roley Star Trek I've seen in a long time. The pilot is the one flying the shuttle for once, the engineer is giving him systems updates while they go try to get the stuff to fix the main engine, the communications officer does all the communications routing, the science officer is faced with a scientific problem but doesn't have the expertise to make the biological connection - that's the doctor - and the security officer gets a gun and an enlisted to boss around rather than just escorting people to the brig/airlock/their quarters, and the best part is when he gets given a technical task to do he fucks it up because it's not his area of expertise. All apart from the Captain leading the away mission rather than being on the bridge, and the lack of environmental suits. But yeah for once it feels like these people have jobs.

Even the cartoon. Protip, cartoon is awesome.  And has awesome follow up episodes to TOS episodes that like the equivelent of when DS9 does follow ups to TNG episodes. (First one is boring though)
