You follow the path
fitting into an infinite pattern.

Yours to manipulate, to destroy and rebuild.

Now, in the quantum moment
before the closure
when all become one.

One moment left.
One point of space and time.

I know who you are.

You are Destiny.

I kid, but we're seeing a common refrain. Spencer freaking when Depeche Mode (his fav band apparently) dissed him, Ministry fans upset about the Antifa song, the recent Willie Nelson dustup - chuds just don't get art at all.

I saw a video once of a dropkick Murphy's show where a bunch of people were on stage jumping around and this one guy was throwing Roman salutes and you see the bass player double take when he sees it, whips the bass off and throw it to someone, and just dive on him in the middle of a song and best the guys rear end

And as the song Peter's our because the band doesn't know what the gently caress is happening he climbs off and grabs his mic and declares NAZIS ARE NOT FUCKIN WELCOME

sure and she would have probably been held in the same regard as, say, Kusama has she not gotten together with Lennon but no one on my jobsites knows who Kusama is, even though she is one of the most globally renowned artists.

Also, is there a political spectrum chart for which is your favourite Beatle?

I have a soft spot for Ringo. He seems nice, and his soothing narrations raised an autistic generation.

I started out with Beatles 1, then I listened to Helter Skelter. Pretty much I recommend this path, experience the extremes and then let your curiosity fill in the rest.

Something about Kavanaugh made me come to a unsettling realization. Arguments that you once would only hear the alt right make about rape are now becoming mainstreamed. I mean not really surprising, but still a bit hosed up.

So life moves pretty fast now-a-days, huh?

But how is it that eventful four-year periods in the past managed to so thoroughly define or gently caress up entire generations for decades to come?

The Depression
WWII
The Beatles

None of these things lasted longer than 4 years, yet people 50 years later talk about each of them as though no more formative event ever occurred in their lives. Grandparents still hoard canned food, veterans still relive their trauma, Beatles fans still obsess over which side of which vinyl album was the perfect 20 minutes of music

Today we forget what happened two weeks ago, and we've been at war in Afghanistan for like 17 years, and we're all like "eehhh"

As depressing as it is to admit, I don't think anything has changed but the awareness of it. What Kavanaugh did was and is common, and folks defending him now just have to explicitly say what they already implicitly considered to be acceptable.

Before MeToo blew up, plenty of folks were calling this crap out, but it was marginalized as "feminism run amok" across the political spectrum. Now, at least, Democrats is getting on the right side of it, even if it is a messy and slow process with far too many people fighting it who should be allies.

If anything, I take heart at what I'm seeing, since dragging this poo poo out into the open is a necessary step to change. It just really sucks to have to hear.

I don't know. Probably it's just me being blind as a WASP male, but the openness of this misogyny seems new. I don't doubt most would consider this to be against the pale, but I kind of am afraid if this becomes "acceptable" discourse.

A shitload of people just considered it to be accepted as due course until recently, but Trump pretty much heralded the period of saying the quiet part loud. But even that's not new; see 'legitimate rape'.
