Hmmm yes I would like a permanent marking on my body that looks like I fell asleep at a house party and someone drew on me with a marker

It also might not even stay in the right spot because their body is still growing rapidly! Thinking mainly of like a navel piercing. I'm not sure if you know how piercings work. I do agree with you on the tattoos though. Definitely a stupid idea for a kid for a ton of reasons. And lol at a 16yo giving tattoos.

If you don't like a piercing or it moves like most surface piercings do, you just take it out. It's not some huge commitment like a tattoo.

Someone who would pierce a 10 year old child's navel is probably hosed up. Also that teen is cracked, you'd have to be morally numb to tattoo a child.

Plus what if it got a secondary infection from all the irritation? I'm kind of grasping at straws a bit but my point is there's just no reason to let a kid that's not even close to fully grown yet get a piercing either. Tattoos are even more unbelievably stupid but that doesn't mean piercings would be fine. I mean I have my nose pierced and stretched earlobes, I'm not some kind of anti-piercing advocate, I just think there's too many possibilities for it to get messed up and possibly leave a scar and they aren't really old enough to understand. Edit I'm derailing so I'll shut up now! Here's a tasteless tattoo I found. Dixville has a new favorite as of 03:04 on Sep 30, 2018 |

This is true but there is something seriously wrong with Brain's face. Also I was trying to figure out why they colored his eyes bright pink, it turns out I guess he did have kind of pink tinged eyes in the cartoon but they just over did it. Also pro tip don't google image search pinky and the brain. There were results from furaffinity that I really wish I had not seen

I've only ever seen serious keloid scarring with those godawful piercing gun punch things. I'm not actually clear on why anyone accepts those instead of needles.

Ooohhhh god let's not start this arguement Piercing guns are pretty awful and frankly I hate that they even exist, a piercing needle is much sharper and makes a clean cut resulting in less pain and better healing but it's such a cultural thing where people don't want to take their little girl to a tattoo shop so Claires and other retail stores continue to bluntly punch holes in kids ears like cattle tags. It's kinda b.s. but whatever!! Apparently this is an "angry half ghost taz tattoo" Ah, the humble Taz, the bread and butter of terrible tattoos.

One time I designed the worst tattoo ever, something a fictional guy would not remember getting during a month-long bender in Tijuana. Spec was "a Dia de Muertos skull with bat wings and flaming dice rolling 7." I mocked it up in Photoshop with the Bacardi bat wings, dice not quite square, and the visible sides of the dice all showing seven. It actually turned out ... better than that Taz thing, and would probably be pretty badass if I gave it to a good artist as a sketch to work from as opposed to ten seconds of and five minutes of slapping stock images together (remember, this was meant to be the worst tattoo) and told them to make the dice show the right numbers. Edit: The mockup described above: Edit again: in-story, the dice are hosed up because it's a lovely artist, in keeping with the idea. In real life, it's because I had to hand-draw them in Photoshop because the numbers on dice don't work like that. Or maybe they do, I don't have a die handy to check, and all I can find on Google is papercraft plans which are way too complicated for me to mentally assemble at the moment. Don't they add up to 7 on opposite sides? In which case I got it right and a whole lot of clipart gets it wrong, so the original premise of hosed-up dice is totally plausible. You reminded me that my friend who is tattoo artist asked me what tattoo I was going to have her give me (before I had any). I tried to look for that and I’m kind of surprised I can’t find one but I did run across ... this...

I have four piercings done by a gun - two were when I was thirteen at a Claire’s, no keloids, totally fine. The other was at a piercing pagoda 9 yrs later, both were fine...until about a year later, and my right ear has a lovely keloid that resists any sort of non surgical intervention! I can’t even wear a loving earring in it! Don’t go for cheap and easy when it comes to body modification, even with simple lobe piercings. Spend the money, go to the scary shop (or a doctors office even, do they still do that?), and get it done there. Keloids are totally random and can appear oh, whenever. Piercing guns exacerbate that risk big time. Enough with my angry PSA, here’s a smug animal

The issue you get with actual piercing studios is that they're really hesitant to work on children. My 7 year-old niece is thinking about getting her ears done, and her mom can't find someone willing to do it at any of the reputable places.

Why you wanna pierce a babies ears? They're not going to be able to "appreciate" jewelry or anything. Maybe as like a "coming of age" thing when they are 10 or 12 years old and the little girl wants to have real ear rings like the older girls or whatever, but a baby? I know it's commonplace but I'm on the side thinking that it's strange/kind of hosed up, at the least.

Babies are decorative for the first year anyway, because they don’t do anything interesting. It’s just like picking cute clothes for them, except with a higher risk of infection.
