i would definitely prefer for studios to cast voice actors instead of celebrities in general but live action lion king's lineup is one of the few things it has going for it

He's insinuating that you're discounting the charismas of Ejiofor, Earl Jones, and Beyoncé because you have trouble relating to black perfomers. Which is a pretty nasty leap to make, although I have to admit that I've got no idea how you could reasonably arrive at the conclusion that Ejiofor is uncharismatic if you've seen him in... anything, really.

Thats a pretty nasty thing to suggest, but sadly these days it seems fashionable to deflect with spurious accusations. Regardless, I find Ejiofor to be lacking in charisma. It has nothing to do with his race and everything to do with his inability to act. Or emote. Or deliver lines.

Scar primarily needs to be charismatic to a gaggle of desperate, mangy scavengers. The actor playing him just needs to be a megalomaniacal villain, because that's how we, the audience, understand his role in the narrative. The only character in the film who requires any charisma is Mufasa, for which, shocking no one, they kept the same actor.

There’s a preview of Enter the Spiderverse after Venom and it looks great. The action feels like a comic book and it’s really funny too.

This conversation got weird. Let's talk more about Donald Glover's stand-up because I'm all about that right now. DC Murderverse posted:Theres a preview of Enter the Spiderverse after Venom and it looks great. The action feels like a comic book and its really funny too. Does this make the movie worth it? I really want to see the clip but I don't want insufferable people in the theater... I've been skipping opening weekend for just about every single movie because of obnoxious people. Hell, took my mother to Black Panther during its 5th week and some idiot grandmother kept screaming and hooting and had some remark after every single line. Then the hoards of nerds spoiling everything in Infinity War. Also a bunch of loud teens and adults in Teen Titans Go! to the Movies. The only saving grace in that is some grandpa in front of us with his kid turned to me and my roommate after the showing and goes "You know, my son told me the movie would be awesome. I did not deserve to sit through this." with complete seriousness. Why did your apostrophes turn into boxes?

Where I live that doesn't tend to happen with big blockbuster movies but I've seen YouTube clips of audience reactions to, like, big moments in Marvel movies are so on and a theatre full of people shrieking as if they're in pain seems like it would be the most insufferable thing. Yes, I am being annoyed by other people enjoying the movie. No, I don't really care.

Yeah, I don't watch movies opening weekend anymore. Or even the next week. I'm more upset that that woman in BP was an older woman who should've known better and possibly ruined the experience for my mother who hadn't seen it before. Also the amount of stupid nerds in Marvel movies talking about spoilers needs to just loving stop. They spoiled the ending of IW AND the teaser trailers going on about what they saw on some lovely potato cam on YouTube. Marvel movies are fun and all, but the fandoms they attract are kind of bad. ...to bring this back around to animated movies, I'm 100% sure they'll do this for Spider-Verse's movie and I'll probably skip that opening weekend too.

Venom is certainly no masterpiece of cinema and in fact the experience may be helped by a large raucous crowd. A theater with just one or two people might be at risk of taking the movie deadly serious and no one should do that

An ideal lady-Beast should be taller, stronger- able to kill our Beau and (initially) willing to do so- maybe if Neytiri was more insectoid than feline and was many times bigger than the male counterparts... but now I'm kinda describing District 9 in which Wicus and Christopher Johnson are an item.
