I think I have a simple solution to the excess of elves and bards in the fortress. After the temple is constructed, we bring all the elves there, and kill them, consecrating our new holy site with the blood of our enemies. Then, we talk all the bards, draft them into two new militia squads, equip them with melee weapons, preferably obsidian swords, and have them fight to the death. Those who survive without crippling injuries will then be drafted into the militia full-time. Also, if you guys are down to kill some nazis, why not offer them up to the gods at the temple?
