Also, I don't remember anyone graduating #1 in boot camp like there's some kind of honors award. I think I remember being ranked based on exam scores in boot camp but that's the only thing I can really remember. And even then there were several people in my division that had perfect scores on all of the exams so it's not like it was some rare feat.

I remember being ranked in tech school since that determined order picks but not in boot camp. Maybe I'm wrong but I definitely don't remember "being #1 at boot camp" as anything special and I feel like anyone with rank would laugh at some kid if he bragged about how good they were in boot/A school.

She called me a tranny and told me I was a bad son for wanting to get away from her. She still calls me regularly, despite me asking her not to contact me repeatedly. The concept of #1 in Basic Training is nebulous at best. You can get promoted from E-1 or E-2 to E-3 if you have certain leadership roles at Basic Training. The main role is cadet commander, or Recruit Petty Officer in Charge (Rpoc as it is called locally). Rpoc's assistant, the Apoc can also get a promo, as well as "Watch team leaders". If you go into the service as an E-3 due to previous education and experience you can not get those basic training advancements. I went in as an E-3 and was literally unable to hold a leadership position, as it would preclude folks straight out of high school from the meritorious advances by having leadership positions. Folks who show up at the ship and brag about being "king of A school" or the "#1" soon become king of the shitter or "#1 of #2".

Jennifer Gunter is a gynecologist known for being outspoken on Twitter about vaginal health.
