Anyways, they don't take debt, which is stupid. Wrong. I've been to multiple of their locations and they all take debit. In fact, it's very rare to find cash only places anymore in Toronto because they realize lots of people don't carry cash around anymore. Hell I think the last place I went to that was cash only was Kids Table on Queen St E.

Then the location that opened up near me still only took cash but had an ATM opposite the cashier. But now I think they all take debit/credit.

So a bunch of people have been talking about being careful about visiting the states with the whole legal weed thing: But what about the other way around? Do you think there's some border/customs people being particularly vigilant about Americans visiting and leaving Canada? Derail/burg chat: There's an A&W getting built real close to me. It's been at least 5 years since I last had A&W so i'm pretty interested in seeing how it is again. Harvey's is the closest thing to me and while they got alright burgs and I like the building process, I think they have crap fries which they're really stingy with too. 5 Guys is rad because no other burg chain lets you get cooked onions & jalapenos on your burg, also, cajun fries. Give me spiced/seasoned fries or give me death. twistedmentat posted:There is a Swiss Chalet literally at the top of my street. I avoid going there because I feel like its way to lazy to literally walk a block for food. Speaking of that, as one of the girls I work with used to work there, and another worked at the Harvey's. From what she told me, it was just horrible. She would not be allowed to go home after a shift ended, forced to stay sometimes up to 2 hours, without being paid; "it was too busy" they'd tell her. She'd often be made to clean the bathrooms, which where always a huge mess. like people would clearly come in and poo poo on the floors and rub it on the walls. Would stuff the sink full of paper so it would flood. Yea, lets get the tiny 16 year old girl to clean this up! I get people not wanting to shake the boat / risk losing a job, but I couldn't imagine not speaking up / doing something about literally working unpaid hours, at fast food/retail. It'd maybe be one thing to have to work bit past close to get poo poo done, or not be able to close up because of a rush. Even my poo poo subway boss said he'd pay us for what staying past close to get things done. (Granted, I didn't really trust him to make good, so I always got out asap.) I hope that boss/store got/gets hosed at some point for literally breaking labor laws.

I heard it was overpriced and faux fancy burger place, have I been misled? E: re:fatburger And A&W used to have good fries when they still had burgers in foil bags, now their fries are meh at best. The burgers and breakfast sandwiches are good though. Bringing it back to politics, where's a good place to get local info on the upcoming election, particularly Winnipeg? Would like to be a more informed voter but not sure where to start and not be overwhelmed. The city website lists the candidates but there's not much of a summary or comparison between the candidates.

There are so many burger choices near me. I have noticed their menu has exploded, which definitely seems like a sign of being run by a conglomerate. Have to have something for everyone.

JWR announces changes to animal cruelty laws to more robustly outlaw bestiality because quote:Canadians have been asking for changes to our animal cruelty laws and today, our Government is responding. This legislation is an important first step in updating the Criminal Code to fill a gap in our laws identified by the Supreme Court of Canada and by stakeholders across the country," said Wilson-Raybould in a statement "They want a fair election system. I highly doubt that an American could be prosecuted for doing drugs in another country, as that would be outside the jurisdiction of any American law enforcement agency save for US military bases or embassies. The other country can charge you certainly if it's against their laws (Thailand, Singapore, Korea, etc). And if you work for a company with strict drug testing regulations and they find out you did the drugs, they can test you and fire you if you pop hot.

You can definitely be prosecuted for certain crimes that you do in a foreign jurisdiction when you're back in your home country, but I believe this is limited to sex crimes and it exists so we can prosecute child sex tourists, which seems like a noble thing to do.
