Yes, but most of that astroturfing is the basic stuff that is in no way dependent on the apparently magical powers of cambridge analytica. Dumping money on fake think tanks and "student's for liberty" stuff is as old as the cold war, and creating fake stuff for whatsapp is super easy and there are literally dozens of agencies that do it in Brazil. Im not questioning the underhanded astroturfing part. Im questioning the specific cambridge analytica angle. Not to mention that the American liberal establishment normalizing the impeachment played at least as big a role here as any of this stuff in de-legitimating the left.
