I see squads of those stupid goons (namaste) daily at the RapidRide stop a block from my house. One of these days when I have the time (and free time off) I'm gonna ride that line all day with a pocket full of singles to pay fares as they find evaders. I'll probably never have the time to do it but a person can dream.

You could buy a bunch of transfer tickets and when you see them hassling the person you could interject with an "excuse me, i think I saw you drop this transfer slip when you got on?"

The county next to mine just passed a thing banning any fees for opting out of smart meter installation from Pacific Power. Mine is moving that way as well. Anywhere else having such severe wailing and gnashing of teeth over the things or are they just rolling them out here in particular right now? Personally I have one and I think they're great but I don't like letting a utility with a monopoly dictate to people about equipment on their own house so I'm pretty OK with PP having to eat their bullshit punitive fees. All the about RADIATION is just stupid, though.

Being able to pull up usage stats down to the hourly level is pretty great. I can actually calculate how much various activities/devices cost me without buying a kill-a-watt or whatever.

Lmao Boeing is rolling out a new scheme for non-union folks where your monthly health insurance premium scales up as you make more money. If I wasn't in the union my monthly cost would go up over $200 starting next year.

Allegedly the union negotiated for King County based state workers to get a raise specifically to address the cost of living/working here. Is this what it feels like to have hope before it's inevitably brutally crushed? I've also gotten at least 3 texts and calls from people cold calling me to stump for Dino Rossi.
