Yeah don't trust polls on propositions. SurveyUSA for example is usually considered to be a solid pollster but a 58/29 spit is asinine. The no campaign managed to drum up a lot of noise and has run a very strong campaign, so I have my hopes up that it'll get derailed. The ones I'm legit worried about passing are 5 and 11.

I just renewed my drivers license so my ballot signature was accepted without issue this time. Back in June they initially rejected it but then accepted it.

The signature-based rejection process was ruled unconstitutional in March so if there's a problem you should in theory be getting contacted and provided a chance to explain/fix the issue. Whether that's actually getting followed or not is of course another story, but if anybody gets their ballot rejected feel free to raise holy hell over it.

Anyway I hope no one has any problems this go-around. I’m not sure I would have any recourse if my ballot wasn’t counted for that reason but the ruling posted above hopefully made it better this year.

Pete rates the props is right on every issue except Prop 8, which you should absolutely vote Yes on because gently caress these leeches who just couldn't find the money to pay employees and keep clinics up to code but also somehow found over $100M to oppose the measure.

They sent my gf a postcard and she had to go to County offices at the civic center to verify... I guess I'm glad they cleared it up, but what a pain in the rear end for anybody who works during office hours or doesn't live nearby. Signatures aren't used as often as they used to be, so to expect them to act as a consistent personal icon seems silly to me.
