I think it looks perfectly fine except the inclusion of the fat reindeer... thing. Or is it a moose? I dunno. The Grinch didn't need a second pet Also their version of the Grinch's song is godawful

https://www.cartoonbrew.com/interne...sis-166163.html I don’t think I’ve ever read a cartoon brew article that’s so positive. Netflix, unlike most networks, seems to be run by people with integrity and an appetite for risk. Something I thought would never exist among the ranks of people who green light entertainment these days

I feel bad for DreamWorks. The movie that put them on the map is being remade by the studio that's been eating their lunch for the past decade.

So this came across my suggested videos: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0Pp1UghnYuc I'm actually kind of shocked that they actually replaced Louis CK. It feels like it's pulling teeth sometimes to get movie studios to recast people that turn out to be lovely

LORD OF BOOTY posted:sounds like the usual for Illumination, their stuff is usually totally fine if weirdly safe Well, like Andre said in the video, I think they were worried they'd piss people off like they did with Lorax...so they made this one safe as gently caress and never strayed far from the source material. To the point where, they basically made the source material just "less scary" for kids.

What was hated about The Lorax? Was it the new narrative/characters they put on top to pad the story? It’s not like I think it’s a classic but I’ve had to watch it/listen to it about 60 times and it seems fine.

From what I've read, the new Grinch movie makes the unnecessary change of having him interact with the townspeople a few times before he goes on his burglary spree, as well as some backstory where he had a bad Christmas once. If anything, I think the idea of a guy sitting alone in a dark room getting angry at people from a distance before actually interacting with them would be more relevant today.

Yeah I feel like anyone working any kind of retail job or a job where you have to deal with people every day, it's pretty easy to sympathize with characters that come to hate people they interact with
