You're right but Brett Gelman/Jon Daly aren't on the show enough so I always look forward to it

A really spooky Halloween treat would be to have them on for a Halloween episode but just being themselves or other characters and not talking about Halloween at all.

Yeah, Tim no selling a gimmick episode would be pretty great. I think Scott would enjoy that too, based on the episode he did away from suicide house that one year.

Be fair: if it was intended to be Besser he'd have a bunch of sticky buds crammed into those fists

at first i thought he was just trying to keep it laugh, but as things went on he would just start laughing when he'd bring it up.

He kind of reminds me of someone, maybe you've heard of him, this masked vigilante who's been cleaning up Crime Alley? Hard to tell sitting down but he looks about that guy's height, at least based on the hazy footage I've seen.

I'm sure I noticed it more because I read this before I listened to the episode, but yeah it was pretty weird. Like he catches himself the first time (which was admittedly the worst) and says he probably shouldn't be laughing and the guest shrugs it off, but he continues to seem amused by it and even makes a weird joke about how the book's place on the charts will be an appropriate tribute to a dead loved one. Unless the book is super into dead sister jokes, I have no idea wtf Scott was thinking.

Edit: Just found out he has a dead brother, so maybe that has something to do with it?

CBB Best of 2018 voting is up. I know I'm getting old because I barely remember half of these, even the ones with guests/bits I really enjoyed (It could also be that I don't relisten to episodes nearly as much as I used to.)

Torn between This is the Story of My Life and Ship of Love for my "Drew Tarver Goofy Musician" vote. The former had a better, more fleshed-out character...but I probably listened to Love Casino a dozen times, minimum.

I thought they were fun on their first visit and then saw diminished returns after that. I think part of the issue is that duo characters just have more opportunities to be dragged into specific weird trivia since two people are making up their backstories, and then that all gets dragged forward in future appearances.

But then that in itself is because of Scott's insistence on maintaining "continuity" on all these characters for some reason. I imagine that's why we don't hear from Cake Boss, JW Stillwater, etc. anymore. It's exhausting just to listen to a five minute recap of a character's backstory, it's probably excruciating to remember as a performer.

It's probably harder for the performers now also, since the CBB Wiki is less obsessively updated than it was a few years back when pretty much everything about a character was put on there so the actors could just read the entries and get reminded of what it was they had said a year or two prior.
