Sometimes Trump makes me think of a driver of bus who threatens to crash it every time he is forced to do his job, or doesn't get his way. Bus Driver Trump: I wanna go to a strip club and beat some strippers People on bus: You can't do that. You have to stay on the route and make sure we get home safe BDT: If you don't let me go to a strip club and beat some strippers I am going to drive this bus off a cliff and it will be your fault. The eye is surrounded by a ring of bright red skin, which is most visible on males during breeding season.

this was always basically a joke, they didn't have a leg to stand on trump's lawyers made arguments like "this should be done in federal court because those judges are better at interpreting federal law" except... all the allegations are about violations of new york state law?

Just a reminder that NY is weird and a "Supreme Court" is basically a county-level court and there are two state court levels above them for this case to be appealed to. Not that they will be likely to have any luck there.

I will say that it never fails to amuse me just how badly Trump hosed up his own grifting schemes (to say nothing of that of a lot of the GOP's own schemes) just by being so goddamn egotistical. If he hadn't won none of this would be happening. He'd be grifting away and the GOP would be doing their evil poo poo undercover and we'd all just be at the injustice of it all. Instead Trump threw the covers off and shined a bright big light on everything because of his egotistical demands for constant attention, and although they're still doing a lot of terrible things, the machinery's been exposed and (as the midterms showed) a LOT of people aren't happy with what they're seeing.

Does that ^^ literally just say "No." ? Like that's what the SCOTUS is saying to Trump? Or is that like a "Number" abbreviation where a docket number would go or something?

RBG retiring or dying under Obama wouldn't have mattered as Scalia made apparent. Not as long as McConnell remains Senate Majority Leader. Would have been the same situation, he wouldn't give a poo poo if there were only 7 justices on the court as long as he gets to pick the next 2. She would have had to predict during his first two years that the GOP was going to seize the senate and power grab and strategically retire in 2009.

Didn't realize it was only the house in 2010. I remember the narrative at the time being about how the electorate was "pissed off" at Obama, but not about anything specific which I took to mean Fox News had been hard at work and successfully so.

The Lundgren Grimes senate campaign in Kentucky was about 5 times more cringeworthy than Hillary's 2016 bid. Her clumsy attempts to attack McConnell while maintaining distance from the Pres. he existed in direct opposition to were laughably awful.

yea the Obama administration gave the saudis tons of weapons to do evil things with too (remember when Trump announced one of the big deals and a bunch of ~resistance~ types tried to own him with 'ACTUALLY Obama put that deal in motion '? Yea that went to genocide too.) Almost none of the current political types, R or D, will go against Saudi Arabia as our key ally in the Muslim world. At best they'll say MBS himself is the problem.
