Fraser Anning’s officially out of Katter’s party. Also Frydenberg was on the radio this morning trotting our the line that the Libs are a “progressive” party that “encourages the individual.”, so they’ll do fine at the next federal election.

Dutton to miss parliamemt this week with an injury. I wonder if labor will grant him an au pair. On a totally unrelated matter: https://twitter.com/sunriseon7/status/1066786432134475776?s=19

My favourite part about the recent Newspoll is the way the Media continually mention the Preferred PM stat, which is absolutely worthless - except it will convince Prime Minister Sharks that he's doing all the right things, and as such he will continue to lawn dart his party into the ground. Well, that and the fact that it's still based on really poor assumptions about preferences, and so you can safely add about 3 points to the ALP.

The NSW Libs had a bunch of big infrastructure programs that were meant to be finished just before the election but are going to be about a year late. It was almost a decent idea for a re-election campaign.

Mr Dutton had planned to spend the week attacking the Labor Party over failing to announce a position on laws to grant more access to the encrypted messages of terrorists and pedophiles. Labor leader Bill Shorten signalled this morning that the ALP is likely to support the measures. “I’ll be guided by the best evidence when it comes to national security,” he said. “The Government certainly said there is a major rush to resolve these matters, they could be right, I’ll wait until the detail. But what I want to say to Australians who hear the Government talk about national security, and they look at the division and chaos in Parliament – I want to reassure them when it comes to national security, Labor and Liberal are in this together.

I reckon NSW will go Labor. hosed if I'm toxxing for it, but all they need is a halfway competent suit without a string of questionable business dealings and they should be able to romp in on the Federal Drag alone. It's absolutely the Libs' to lose. If Labor can't romp it in with a comfortable majority, the entire party room needs to be deselected.

Yeah with the stranglehold NSW has on the federal party I don’t think it’s inconceivable that they try rolling the federal government early (which they see as a lost cause anyway) to give them a better chance at the state level. In which case it will get gloriously ugly and bloody internally.
