No but I looked and there are 2 on CL, each listed for $75. Mulling it over.

Buy some 37s and cut till they fit. We got over a foot of snow in December so far. My truck might be really, really stuck. gonna let it warm up for like an hour and try leaving my spot at full throttle tomorrow.

Safe to say we’re all pitching tents over dat azztek. It’s a cool color too. Normal weekend. Filled the M3 with ethanol free gas and gave it a wash. Just in time. Snow started flying last night and didn’t let up til late morning. We have probably 8 inches accumulation on our lawn. Feels

Ambetter is pretty decent in Texas, but it's backed by a different company here. It kinda sucked in DFW, as only one hospital network accepted them (out of the 4 or so major ones in the Dallas side of DFW), but plenty of PCPs accepted it. In Austin, both of the major hospital networks accept it, and finding a doctor was incredibly easy. I'm pretty happy with it. My deductible this year was $575, generic prescriptions were $1/30 days (and everything I'm on is available in generic), $1 to see my PCP (which my old doctor and current doctor just waived, it costs more to actually bother collecting the $1), urgent care was $15 (in and out of network), ER visits $100. Next year it's the same, except urgent care drops to $10 (and only in-network, but the major PCP and urgent care system here [Austin Regional Clinic] is in-network), and I think ER visits go up a bit. I think I spent maybe $50 out of pocket if you don't count glucose test strips (it's easier to just order them on Amazon out of pocket).

I'm fairly certain the slow leak in my radiator was what went full ol faithful resulting in a fukushima style meltdown on the way home. I just looked up whats involved in replacing the radiator and the whole front of the car including the crash structure has to come off on the v6. I'm currently imagining an entire battalion of troops equipped with davy crocketts methodically advancing across hiroshima and detroit, turning all before them into beautiful glass with nuclear hellfire. Everything burns. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uKanmLGBEJA

My theory is that the government is on of the few entities sophisticated and large enough to get the plans they want while actually not actively trying to gently caress the employees. I'm sure Google has great insurance if you can get hired by them, but most employers just don't know what they are doing.

It was low 60's Saturday and dinged 70 for a few minutes Sunday, felt weird having the house opened up in December. Replaced the distributor on the F100. Did some yard cleanup, still have way too much left, and did a little garage organization. Regret not taking the locost out for a quick spin but by the time I was done with all the things I wanted to get done I was shot. Almost have things organized enough I can get a car out of the back storage side in under 15 minutes...almost.

Apart from the odd single shift here and there it'll have been 11 years since I've worked anything other than straight days, this week I'm working afternoons and it's weird being around the house when there's daylight and I've got energy. I've put the new Christmas lights up around the garage and diagnosed why the previous set failed, they can be repaired and used indoors which the kids will love, less so my wife, she hates Christmas because of rampant commercialism (agreed) and her grandad died Christmas Eve when she was 8. She's also winding herself up about our sons stress level so I'm trying to organise anything I can think of to take that away. We don't get up super early for presents, I do the cooking, virtually all presents are bought already, we're not having visitors on Christmas Day. I'm not allowed to decorate the house or tree though, she might hate it but she hates it done badly even more

I haven't really done any Christmas shopping. And I don't really want to, either. I don't want anything and don't want people to waste money on useless crap for me but I'm sure it'll happen anyway. Why can't you just tell your family "Let's just not this year?" and it actually happen? Seems everyone has guilt in not buying garbage for people.

I feel that giving Amazon gift cards is a suitable halfway stage. I give a £10 card to a relative for their birthday, they give me a £10 card for my birthday. We then both spend it on the usual stuff we were going to buy from Amazon anyway. Send it electronically and you can avoid the whole pointless 'Christmas cards thru the post' thing.

Giftcards are the worst. "couldn't be hosed doing anything other than locking you into one shop that may have conditions of use". It's worse than cash, and it's not really a gift. Just send cash or a proper thoughtful gift. I have strong opinion on this because amazon is poo poo, plus I never bothered to cash in a gift card most times. $$$$ wasted by the people that bought them for me and now I wouldn't get anything decent for them ever. The few I used was to buy a gift for someone else next christmas I think. I'm fussy and get what I want where I want and don't carry giftcards around everywhere with me so they are often forgotten (plus often not valid where I want to get something right now) A gift card is the lamest thing ever. Shops that sell them suck, people that buy them are fools. Stick cash in a card or something jeez. It's like treating your friends and family like hobos begging for money. "no, I won't give you cash because you'll use it for drugs/booze, but I'll bring you food/a blanket". Like "can't trust this person with cash they'll use it for blow and hookers" type poo poo and retailers feed on that and hope all the people you buy gift cards for never use them. Eh, I get the utility of things like spa/experience and restaurant gift cards, some people need that restriction/push to actually spend something on themselves. Store gift cards on the other hand are a lame gift for the most part if only because they're the minimum effort gift, although if that's their request and they're planning on making a bigger purchase with it, why not.

Plus the fact shops love them because they hope many are never cashed in aspect (a lot of people get stung when places go bankrupt and gift cards aren't honoured. Why the gently caress do people buy them? There's no benefit, only downsides. If it wasn't $-$ they might make sense, but $-$ it's a benefit to the retailer and less reward plus more risk for the buyer. Fo3 fucked around with this message at 16:10 on Dec 3, 2018 |

My sister and I have agreed simply to do a nice dinner out every year. My parents are actually very good about presents as well, usually doing something utilitarian that they know we need. I do need to figure out what to get my nephews, since obviously they do get excited about receiving presents. One's just turned five, the other will be eight in February. I'm thinking of getting the pirate-themed package from The Mysterious Package Company for the older one, but no clue on the younger guy.

I hate them due to how many have not been used, or retailer went bust. There's no reason for loving giftcards.InitialDave posted:Partly to show you put at least some thought in, "I know you like shopping here, but I don't know precisely what you want/need". And back around in a circle it comes. "I know you need money to buy things you like, but I don't know precisely what you want/need, here's some money" The whole gift card angle is not necessary. People buy them because ? It's an inferior form to regular cash. Shops go bust, people forget them, they expire, people don't find what they really need at that shop and have to pay cash elsewhere? Here's some cash that you'll put in your wallet and probably spend on a sub sandwich on your lunch break or other dumb poo poo that's not a gift. Giving a gift card from a specific store ensures the person will pick out a GIFT for themselves and not just spend cash on dumb every day poo poo

Good. Now read what I posted. That's treating people (like friends and family) like homeless hobos. Oh it's gift season. Can't give them cash that may provide a meal or roof over their head. Let's give gift cards this gift season. That way when they spend it, it will be a gift from meeeee even though I can't be bothered with them in any aspect. E: not expecting any BTW, just thinking about the $$$ wasted on them. For many years I was trying to get my family to forget about all gifts and just have a decent party. IE someone buy a few cartons of beer, someone buy wine etc. Others spend up on seafood because it's summer here, and those that can cook make a table spread of sides, desserts etc. Share the load with x$ per head, just have a party with good food and drink.
