I HATE THAT HEDGEHOG, BROTHER!
Why is the Veleera skin so boring? Your criteria for skin design here was: TOYS. CHILDREN'S TOYS. And you went with a skin that might as well have just been a part of the mecha series. At least make her look like a barbie doll with like, brush accessories in place of the swords or something

There’s a tiny little line in the patch notes about reducing hero radii by 5-15% across the board, which seems like a huge nerf to every single skillshot-based hero at gold and below. Please tell me I’m wrong and that they’re just referring to the little circle drawn under the models, not the actual hitbox?

It's probably just a spray, but the trailer shows a green army man Jimmy (with platform molded feet) that would be a godamn amazing skin.

The only skins are the 3 they show in the trailer. But this wouldn't be the first time they showed a potential skin design in a game event before it was actually made. They did the same thing with McCree during the first Halloween event in OW. Granted, in this game, that seems counter intuitive, since like, the point of making skins is to make money since this is a free to play game, so actively not making skins is a very interesting business strategy.

I mean, sure that's a possibility, but that's also hilariously bad for a studio of this size. It's a holiday skin, not a new character. Solo modders make character skins as a hobby in their spare time. I would hope a team of pro artists working full time hours could make skins for an annual deadline. I would think and hope that it just comes down to management not approving more designs and keeping the artist's hands tied.

Though that doesn't explain the general lack of additional tints for some existing skins and mounts.

Nope, all heroes have had their hitboxes reduced. It's also an indirect nerf to body-blocking, because now pathing around people is much easier.

Also, just got out of the PTR. Initial findings:

  • Sylvanas Rework Status: Mediocre. She's now a Sustained Damage Assassin with middling to low performance, with her primary claim to fame being that she does moderate amounts of Physical and Ability damage instead of favoring one or the other. The problem is that we already have several characters like that (particularly Falstad, Cassia, Fenix, and Valla) and she loses slugfests to all of them, so she's not even good enough at sustained damage to win fights unless your opponent is an idiot. Her only saving graces are Black Arrow and Possession (yes, really).
  • Stitches Rework Status: gently caress Yes. He's got a ton of utility talents now, although there are several clear winners on several of his tiers. Hook's range reduction isn't that big of a deal and I'm positive that his winrate will see gains. Important to note, however: his Level 20 that passively prevents his Movement Speed from being reduced below 100% does not make him immune to Roots.

Fenix changes look good; having some talent diversity on his level 7 is nice.

The new Divert Power: Weapons is real loving dumb though, holy poo poo. Not only is maintaining the bonus via attacking people trivial, but now there's effectively no tradeoff - if it was something like "take damage equal to shields at the end of the effect" I'd be able to live with it, but since you keep your shields while the ability is active and lose them when it ends... there's basically no downside to popping it, taking major aggressive action, and then just peacing out whenever you start taking real damage. The risk/reward factor that used to be there is effectively gone.

if you havent noticed, like with the changes to sylvanas and their campaign to remove specialists completely and lowering exp gain for killing bases, they seem to think making the game more like league of legends will attract players. it's far too late for that

Yeah I have no idea why they felt the need to nerf body blocking and skillshots. Making it harder to be effective at your character is the last thing this game needs. I have to wonder if the reason for this was because they couldn't be bothered to make better pathfinding and if the smaller radius "improves" it.

Battlerite was a really good game though, the problem was SLS's handling, not the game itself which was holding a really good sized community until SLS started going radio silent for giant spans and torpedoing balance randomly.

Has to be it, like every problem with the game it goes back to them being to lazy or short sighted to not design this game in the SC2 map editor

Its also kind of strange because I think you only lose 200 points if you leave a match once its actually in progress

so you can save yourself 400 lost points if you just afk instead of dodging (this makes you a jerk though)

I usually play the ARAM way past getting the chest, but I gave up this time because every game seemed awful and either had an afker, or a feeder. I also can't help but feel that the hero selection is just terrible a lot of the time. Malganis probably makes it feel worse, when the other team rolls MG and your team didn't even have the option.

bbbut then you might get reported!

(the threshold for actually being punished by reports for afking in games is ridiculously high fyi)

this is a really dumb change. I guess the thought is that killing buildings is supposed to advance map pressure, not snowball exp. but the problem is that this just shifts a relatively greater percentage of your exp into minion kills, and with pults showing up earlier it’ll push out your waves and make soaking harder. we’ll have more stalemate games on big maps where one side can’t effectively soak due to how pushed the lanes are. catchup mechanic I guess, but implemented in a frustrating, weird way.

It's a stealth buff to stealth characters, who will be able to soak super pushed lanes safely because they don't show on the minimap.

Also someone hashed out the details of the size reductions on the PTR.

Kael's hitbox is no longer loving enormous, which is wild considering that was supposed to be one of his balancing factors. Tychus's hitbox is disjointed because it's the midpoint between his body and his gun rather than following his body.

Uh, watching some PTR play, taking the turret camp on Volkskaya gave over 1k XP. A player kill shortly after was 970 xp. Minions were dropping 74-77xp (7 minions in the wave.) That means getting a turret camp is double a clearing a wave, and a bit more than securing a kill. If you manage to steal a camp and get one or two kills in the process, and they miss out on a wave or two of xp because of it, that seems like a lot of XP deficit... :psyduck:

Both teams hit lvl 20 before 20 mins and one team still has all of their keeps. That isn't normal right? I feel like 20 is usually endgame and keeps are usually down. At least one.
