I heard a scream from out of my office window so I turn to take a look to see what's going on and am greeted by this dude sat motionless with a couple of people stood in front looking very confused: I want to know more about this work robot but can't find anything on the work website. :/

Uhhhh. My friend's daughter cut her wrists last night. She's been struggling for a while but I guess the Tumblr poo poo was the tipping point for her. Sounds like that was where she spent all of her internet time and 99% of her free time outside of school. She is stable but he's losing it.

Last night I got home late from work and noticed "Assigned Parking" signs on every single spot on the first and second floors of the parking structure I've been parking in for the last three years. This morning I left a little late for work so I could pop into the parking office to see what's up, because I haven't gotten any mail or notification of anything new. "Ah, yes, those are for the private preferred parking customers. Are you a private preferred parking customer?" "Um, I don't know? I wasn't aware there were different tiers of parking, I pay $30 a month for parking, am I?" "No, that's just regular public parking. You'll have to park on the third floor or above, unless you'd like to become a private preferred customer for $40 a month?" "Nah." I've been banished.

And I think that 'cry for help' is actually very likely. It doesn't downplay the seriousness of it - these things aren't always the attention-grabbing stunts that you see in the movies where they only take enough pills to faint or use a blade across the streets, rather than along them - but rather a genuine need for help at that specific time. The goods news is that if handled carefully, it is entirely possible that they can move past this and live a happy life.

I just really need to vent. I bought long tube headers and catted y-pipe for my truck last year from an authorized Kooks vendor. It was the cheapest place online and they were even throwing another 12% discount on top if I placed the order right then so I did. I also paid for ceramic coating so I knew it would take a little longer to get the parts coated through a third party. After 2 months I received the headers, a little long but fine for the price I paid. Still no catted y-pipe. Another couple of months go by and through various emails I am told the parts coming, trouble with vendors and every excuse imaginable. I do more research into the company and they are notorious for taking a long rear end time to get parts shipped out. I figured fine, for the price I paid I can be patient. Months go by and emails are exchanged full of excuses still. Phone calls are ignored so I’m down to just emails, and now those are being ignored. It’s been over a year now so I look into it again and long story short- they were never an authorized vendor like they claimed and they have screwed over a lot of people. Turns out they have a court date today with the attorney general about this behavior too. Called my credit card company this morning to get my money back and am told because it was over a year ago I’m hosed. I hosed myself by being extra patient, now I’m out $670. And gently caress Maryland Speed, those cocksuckers.

Yeah, I learned my lesson about being overly patient with a lost bumper shipped with greyhound. I let my window for a charge back/dispute lapse and welp I'm out a few hundred and a bumper. poo poo, but I'll be a lot more aggressive and attentive of time windows for when orders go wrong.

Beater Mazda6 is giving me heart palpitations. It was a cold morning (about 15 degrees) and this is a car that is parked outside. It started up fine, but the strange thing is by the time I got to the main road out of my neighborhood (~3/4 mile) the engine was up to temp. That is not common, the needle usually moves but not to middle of the gauge. I was watching it like a hawk to see if it was going to creep any higher and it didn't. Another half mile down the road every light but oil and battery came on (ABS/TCS/air bag/seat belt) and tach/speedometer when wonky for a second and it did not want to downshift. I had my OS moment and flipped a u-turn and drove directly back home. Turned off the lights and the window defroster. Lights went off except air bag  Fortunately the roads are dry and clean so I took the M3.This has to be a borked alternator that I just swapped out, right? I am going to check my fluids when I get home, but the whole thing just trips me out. I don't care to swap out the alternator because that is an easy job. I just don't want this to be a rats nest of poo poo to untangle.

I'm pretty pro-sex work or erotica or porn or whatever you wanna call it, but I have to agree with AA here, getting involved in doing like drawing fan art and porn for Tumblr and Deviantart types is a whole different ballgame. You're talking about a communities that have some pretty wild ideas about fetishes and consent and having some pretty young and impressionable getting involved isnt a good thing.

Just like sex I'd argue there's not much you can realistically do to stop teenage children from accessing it (short of literally keeping them on a leash), so next best course of action is to educate them so they don't end up with unrealistic expectations regarding sex or place themselves in a position to be exploited.

I'm unconvinced by an argument simply based on her age. It's not a cookie-cutter situation with that, I know people twice her age who I'd barely consider to be functional adults. Maybe she's too young, maybe she isn't, I think that she clearly has some problems that she feels whatever it is she's drawing makes easier to cope with. Those problems are the problem. Given where some people look for outlets, drawing dirty pictures is about the mildest poo poo ever.

STR: Dell has a few lasers that are literally rebranded Brothers. They are just different enough that you can't use a Brother toner in it, but the usual suspects have just as many cheap as gently caress toners for the Dell versions as they do for the Brothers. Depending on when you buy you might be able to get a better deal on the Dell - I did.
