It isn't going to be too long where a computer just spits out brand new music, art, design, porn. I got old person scared of the technology when I could type 'cats' into the search bar of the photos app on my phone and it actually brought up pictures of our cats, even though I have never tagged any images at all. Neural stuff is magic to me like email is magic to my grandparents.

I am conflicted. I like the concept, but I hate the execution. The rear suspension lift in particular, while probably substantial, just looks inelegant, and I hate the weird-rear end exocage, stack, and lovely chrome rollbar.

It super front heavy too, the rear tires are barely deformed. Probably not an issue once you load it up with your zombie survival kit but as pictured it looks like it would summersault the first time you touched the brakes.

When I read about it I tried "tank" and it gave me all my model tanks and the reference photos I'd saved. The only ones left out had busy camo, like a Hetzer with ambush pattern. A few updates later it found all of them. I feel like this has implications for the military.

What with deepfakes and all, I'm assuming it won't be long before photos and videos become useless as evidence in court and such. I'm actually surprised photos aren't already.

um excuse me posted:Altered digital images are pretty easy to detect with error level analysis. Yeah, fooling a causal observer or even someone who's seen a lot of pixels in their day isn't that hard, but fooling experts is years off yet.

Error level analysis relies on having an image saved with compression, then edited. It doesn't do anything for deepfakes as those are not edited but generated from scratch, there are no compression editing artifacts to look for.

i feel like its probably inevitable that even video editing will one day look so good it will become an issue in high profile legal matters but fortunately by then the entire concept of privacy will be forgotton as we will all be born with cameras up our assholes

Everyone knows about deep fakes and how creepy they are. But the video is always sourced from something else, so there is always a paper trail giving away the alteration.
