No I'm positive it was SO5. There was a huge stink about it so far as these things go. It was the witch I think and she got put in what people said looked like a diaper when she was supposed to be wearing...I dunno, just more revealing panties or something.

It was talked about in here when the game came out. There were even tons of negative reviews on Amazon.co.jp for the game because of it.

Are you sure you're not thinking of Tokyo Mirage Sessions? That got a big stink over some of the costume changes.

It's not just hitting video games, all media is suddenly under heavy scrutiny for it. Every host country goes crazy trying to clean up and look presentable for the Olympics.

I'm guessing you're thinking of another game, because there's no way a character in Star Ocean 5 could've been made less explicit when Fiore exists.

They're probably thinking of Xenoblade Chronicles X and the 13(?) year old girl party member's outfits being changed which is good because IIRC some of her outfits in the Japanese version were just creepy and wrong for a kid to be wearing.

There was also some dumb outrage over minor changes to a few Bravely Default outfits, and making characters 18+ instead of 16+ for their ages.

Yeah, that's the one. Incidentally the costume changes actually worked out quite well (aside from one or two where it's just a few patches of skin retextured just a little too blatantly and looks badly done), and even the re-written chapter is far and away a better plot beat than what was originally done in the Japanese version. They changed a chapter from being about doing a pervy gravure photo shoot, bikinis and all, to just working up the courage to get in front of a camera and look confident for a regular photo session. Which tracks a lot better for a game about a group of first-time Idols.

Oh yes, that too. Lin Lee Koo was pretty much a character that existed only for :pedo: reasons.

That's not really unexpected if it conflicts with the Olympics. Major events running simultaneously never end well for one of them.

japan is trying to look 'presentable' for the olympics as a big redebut on the world stage so they're cracking down on a lot of stuff. some of it is justifiable, some of it isn't, and it's all being executed in the most hamhanded way possible. and of course they arent making any effort to crack down on shady as gently caress pseudo-brothels or anything, just stuff that tourists might see while bumbling around tokyo. And considering the government just directly funded an anime by a renowned sex pest because it's about the 2012 earthquakes, I doubt they have any interest in actually cleaning things up either, it's just surface level stuff.

and yeah, 'for that month' is also pretty important, once the olympics are over i imagine sony will get a lot less strict so long as they see some profit in doing so.

But Titty games are fine by me. I'm not buying them so it doesn't really concern me. It just gets annoying hearing about "SJWs" all the time. And by the sound of it the market will be flooded by titty media again in a couple years.

There's was some legislative talk a few years ago that could've involved reclassifying certain manga and anime in a way that would make them straight up illegal under the same law that made possession of child pornography illegal, which was only passed in 2014 (the Tokyo Summer Olympics were announced in 2013).

The US has supposedly turned a profit on two of them, with those two being the only net positives, but the olympics arent a money maker scheme so much as an excuse to bulldoze parts of cities and loot government money for self enrichment.

Calgary and Vancouver both did well, according to wiki.

Sochi supposedly was in the top ten, but considering what a shitshow it was on the ground I'm not really that surprised. Russia has made a lot of use out of the facilities though and also built an F1 track on the site.
