I find that hilarious and relatable since they’ll all be forced to cry alone and scared in abusive nursing homes with ice-hearted bureaucrats impatiently waiting for them to die to make room for more olds to wring money from, since they have no community and abused their kids into hating them and wishing death on them

My gaming resolution is to actually focus on something. I'm currently messing around in four MMOs (Warcraft, ESO, Secret World and LOTR) and trying to platinum Spider-Man and keep flitting back and forth with the attention span of a fruit fly.

Paulie from Rocky IV had one thirty-five years ago, it's about time that our technology caught up with our imaginations.

Does anyone else have that impulse to not voice an opinion on the movie you’ve just watched with your friend or loved one until you’re out of earshot of the other cinemagoers?

People always talk disparagingly about the sexbots, but at least that's some actual human contact, in a sense. Bring on the sexbots I say, they can't be much worse than this. It's no different than any personality based entertainer job of the last 120 years but its just more targeted audiences so you can find someone you actually enjoy watching instead of tuning into Fireside Chats on the Radio once a day so you can find out what happened that day.

Only if the movie is completely average and not worth any real discussion. If the film is trash I will begin the poo poo talk as soon as the lights come on and if it's amazing I'll excitedly talk about that poo poo all the way home. Sherlock & Watson is a notable exception where the entire theater cleared out before the credits roll and nobody joined in my slow clap.

I think the nature of streaming has totally evolved from a premise of personally enjoying an actor's personality or character as it stands in other forms of media to some vague simulacra of shared emotional response. The proliferation of reaction videos, unboxing videos, angry pink-haired man screaming into a microphone etc. is no longer about producing actual programmatic content so much as it is successfully replicating the appearance and conversational banter you'd have with your friends in real life, if people had real-life friends anymore. People aren't tuning in to streamers because there's an overarching program or vision for the channel, they're tuning in to see their preferred brand of emotional mimicry.

I went to the movies last week to see the new Spiderman thing with my little brother. We got shoved into corner seats in the front row and I had to twist my neck up to see the movie properly. Then I got sick from sitting in a chair some germbag was probably in earlier. gently caress movies. I think its pretty silly but some people are wealthy enough to do it and if it makes them happy who cares? They get to spend money supporting content they actually enjoy rather than feeding it all into the faceless maw of capitalism. I really don't see the problem. Of course some people do stupid poo poo that makes it all look bad but name one aspect of humanity where that hasn't been the case?
