I went through TSA in portland yesterday and the absolute amount of fucks given was incredibly low. My bag got flagged for screening, the dude brought it over to the counter and was like TSA: bro, I have no clue why he flagged your bag... you got anything in here that's dangerous? Me: no, I have an extra pair of shoes and boots in there but nothing that's dangerous/illegal TSA: whats in this small box me: medical tape TSA: whatever, you're fine *walks away and takes out phone*

Building a wall in any way suggested would be the single largest engineering project ever conducted in the modern world and probably all history. Don't have time to compare it to the great wall of china but they might have it beat if adjusted for modern times.

Almost certainly yes, but regardless I believe somebody with an ounce of sense in the administration realized they should probably tie the pet building project with the campaign promise to revitalize the steel industry.

This government shutdown is going to expose exactly how many leaches are in the government or depend on the government, which will give almost an exact amount of how much federal employment/programs needs to go, and what needs to be privatized. Our highway networks are insane.

A lot of the federal unions can't legally strike. I believe it's a consequence of the Reagan years, where by law, federal employees can't strike. Could they do a mass, multiday sickout? I hear the flu is really bad this season.

Does it count as a strike if people just quit instead of not showing up for awhile? With what TSA pays the first sign of paycheck trouble people are going to have to come up with a solution for rent really drat quick. When the guy in charge is filling his Depends every day with another tantrum and threatening to keep it going for a really long time people are going to start looking at the exits. Even scabs won't show up if your sales pitch is, "Yeah you'll probably get paid eventually when this is all over."
