It's a loving parody of 1960s adventure scifi cliches, the primary inspiration being shows like Thunderbirds, and much of the hilarity comes from the memorable audio cues and staging. If you don't love it that much, it just might be that you weren't sufficiently saturated by those shows by syndicated television in your childhood?
