Developing? The Royal Saudi Strategic Missile Force has been a thing since the 80s and has its own Wikipedia page. They more or less admitted that they have a cash-for-nukes option with Pakistan as well.

Don't get me wrong, the ongoing Saudi-Iranian arms race is no bueno, but Saudi missiles are not a novelty.

I know that we probably don't go with a lot of "If it Bleeds, it Leads" type news here, but this story seems to be worth watching.

A St. Louis police officer was killed in what was first reported to be an "accidental shooting", but was then revealed to be a game of Russian Roulette.

So according to the story, three officers were in the apartment of Nathaniel Hedron, who loaded a revolver, shot one bullet, handed it to her, she pulled, nothing, she handed it back to him,
and he shot her...at the same time as his partner, who of course was washing his hands of the entire matter, was leaving the apartment.

This story seems too ridiculous to be true, and I don't know why the partner, who, along with Hedron, was on-duty at the time, isn't being charged with something.

It seems like this is a story concocted to cover up what might have either been a personal fight (maybe over a romantic relationship?), or, given the state of police in Saint Louis, it could involve her knowing about corruption. I mean, that is speculation, but the story as it is doesn't really hold water.

Sounds like the lead-in for a SVU episode.

But one that almost immediately switches to legal maneuvering because the investigation concludes before the title screen and they spend 1.5 minutes at the morgue discovering other injuries and then it's 18 minutes of lawyering before he gets off with a wrist slap.

Nah, to my shame I've watched enough SVU to know they'd uncover some vast conspiracy, possibly involving going undercover, before they got to the law part.

Same reason they'd work with any other member of the Legislature? They're not giving him any new position of power or anything, and as long as he's voting with them it's another vote in their favor. It really doesn't seem like he's getting anything out of this other than not being denied membership in the Democratic Caucus. Which is probably all he wants anyway because he thinks he'll lose next election as a Republican. If he votes like a shithead, then it seems like the Democratic Primary he's now signed up for is as good a check as anyone's going to get this side of expelling him from the Legislature for not voting the way you like.

In what way is Pelosi conservative? Yeah she’s no socialist, but she’s at least more progressive than the majority of Dems

I believe in the value of life, but I will never allow interference with a woman’s right to choose. I believe that love happens in many forms and no person’s rights should be denied because of who they love. I believe that families come in all shapes and sizes and that’s a good thing. I believe that a person born outside of the US has the right to pursue his or her American dream. And I believe there is no circumstance when a child should be torn from the arms of his or her mother.

Also Democrats had a supermajority even before he switched.

Which makes me wonder if he really would hurt any Democrat, especially one that runs to the left to offset lost votes in the middle.

Schultz would be utterly repellent to the vast majority of the people planning to vote for a Democrat in 2020, but he might peel off some of the Kasich/Flake Republicans who only voted Trump in 2016 because they hated Hillary Clinton. I posit that he'd hurt Trump more than help him.

There's some overlap between a Schultz voter and a Biden voter. There's almost zero overlap between a Schultz voter and a Bernie voter. A Schultz candidacy only hurts Democrats if they fall into more Third Way bullshit.

I'm pretty sure they were additional sanctions related to punishing some Russian oligarch who divested (but not really) thats ostensibly the reason the sanctions were removed, "look, he doesn't own the company anymore so its good!" (Congress: "bullshit, he still indirectly controls the companies").

The Canadian tariff is separate and we hypothetically could decide to have tariffs on Russian steel too. Maybe we do, I don't know.
