This is what the FBI does. This is what the FBI has always done. They are not on your side. Pointing to a particular handful of G-Men and saying, "These here are good cops and that means that this could be a good organization" is naive because the purpose of the entire policing system is to suborn or remove any kind of challenge to the frankly monstrous status quo. When you realize that the system is working in the manner that it was designed to work and that the major objection that the ultra-wealthy and the political class have for Trump is that he's crude and unruly, you can start to perceive the outline of the actual problem that we face. It's a hard-rear end leap to get there, and it took me all of Obama's presidency and the poo poo that came after to get there, but once you're here poo poo starts making a lot more sense. tl;dr: Cops are bad even if they seem good because the system is poison, and Marx was 400% right.

As the Left becomes more of a threat to power, you can count on the FBI to go back to the bad old days of infiltrating every civil rights organization they can find and orchestrating assassinations of civil rights leaders--if indeed they ever stopped. And I don't just mean people who define themselves as leftists and join socialist orgs. Demanding public services like healthcare, higher wages and redistribution of wealth, and an end to systemic police brutality are all leftist ideas, and as they become more mainstream, more people will be targeted.

The standing legal precedent is that the police have no moral or legal obligation to defend you or your property from any one of any thing, much less a spree shooter. Their job is to enforce the racial caste system and protect capital. If you got rid of the police, the only people whose lives would meaningfully change would be the rich people, because most people are bound by the law but not served by it. The legal system has nothing to do with preventing crime or punishing people for commiting crimes, it's all about social control, and when you look at it through that lens a lot of things make more sense.
