I am interested in hearing more grunge. I am re-experiencing my old love pro wrestling from the 80s and 90s and it inspired me to learn more about some music.. I only really know about Nirvana because of course I heard their big hits back when I listened to the radio. Can anybody here recommend bands and albums? Also I tend to like female vocalists so if there are any grunge bands you'd recommend with one that be cool. Thank you.

Grunge was like six bands, of which Nirvana was the best and Mudhoney the other good one. Just look at Wikipedia. Listen to L7 and Breeders, they have female singers

Veruca Salt was actually pretty decent, although it doesn't hurt that they bit off the Breeders (who own) pretty hard. Hole never really did much for me, but they also fit the bill- Live Through This is their best album.

Blake Judd is a scam artist but I've never heard of him having NS ties. I would start with Valonielu for OP and Oi Magoi for HSN. In a Flesh Aquarium is Unexpect at their wackiest. maudlin of the Well's peak is Bath, which is one of my favorite albums ever. Again, those two bands are not sonically similar to Sigh, they just throw everything at the wall like them (motW is more tasteful about it).

Reverse chronological order doesn't really make sense because their last few records, while decent, have tended to retread sounds from their earlier releases. Hex is the obvious choice(and basically if you like that one you'll like all the later material anyway).

Specifically those with an emphasis on telling or suggesting a story through the lyrics and sound. I'm thinking like Pink Floyd's The Wall, Phish's The Man Who Stepped Into Yesterday, and Dear Hunter's Acts series.

The former is Lonesome Crowded West and The Moon & Antarctica, and the latter is In The Aeroplane Over the Sea. They're both concept albums, one's just more specific. I tend to like the less narrative ones. Good suggestions!
