if any good compendiums of the bullshit appear, feel free to link 'em. i am fueled by schadenfreude watched some japanese group for like fifteen minutes go up to an AV arena that probably wasn't the end of the dungeon, because the arena had an exit as well. they got it to like 95% when it started spamming meteor and killed them all. and even that doesn't hold a candle to the bullshit of original AV

For Absolute Virtue, there are 6 side rooms leading to the boss. You have to travel through the six rooms and use a Perception logogram to find a hidden portal in one of the rooms. Then you enter the portal and there are six more rooms. Each party goes into one of the six rooms and works to spawn a NM out in Hydatos. Then when those NMs are killed, they should lock some of the skills that AV has, making it killable. Hypothetically...

Actually Kimahri is very good and useful because you just never level him and he'll be right next to Ultima at the start of his sphere grid. Then when you get the key spheres to unlock it Yuna and Lulu can use friend spheres to instantly jump there.

I'm excited to see real action will finally be taken against assholes that willfully impede or wipe dungeons/raids. It's the reason why the only GCDs you want to use during overheat are slug shot with ammo, clean shot, and cooldown. If for some reason you find yourself with no ammo, no procs and you're overheated you could do a lot worse than pressing cooldown five times.

Once you hit 66 and get Barrel Stabiliser, your rotation should get rigid enough to the point that just hitting your ammo skills on cd will manage your heat naturally so that you overheat pretty much as WF comes off cooldown. This is a pretty good guide to keep in mind once you hit 70. FWIW I use the 3 ammo high ping 95 heat rotation.

You're totally fine using cooldown outside of overheat as long as it won't put you below 50 heat. Before you're 64 that part doesn't matter too much but once you have heated split/slug/clean it is extremely important. The important thing to keep in mind is when you want to overheat. (which is typically immediately before hitting wildfire - preferably wildfire and reload in the same oGCD window if you can swing it) What you wrote out is more or less fine. Controlling when you overheat without flamethrower is a colossal pain in the rear end and really isn't worth the effort to get right. Before you have flamethrower and barrel stabilizer heat management isn't really something you can do. And you get flamethrower at 70. (granted, heat management is still janky even with your entire kit)

Watching groups trying to do AV is absolutely hilarious. I especially love that apparently to seal one of his abilities, you need to find a secret portal in the instance that spawns a special FATE *outside* the instance, that the people outside in Hydatos have to kill for you to seal the ability. Can't wait to see the rest!
