Horses and peoples have been loving around with each other for 10K years, give or take. There's bound to be a bit of variance in both species by now. Slippery posted:From what I've read it's mostly dumber https://horseandrider.com/horse-health-care/latest-research-on-how-smart-horses-are The above seems like a good assessment from a quick scan. They're herbivores that are hunted by carnivores in the wild, and rare among hunted herbivores in that they're also extremely social in their groups, like crows and parrots and apes and humans. And have also been bred by humans for gobs of years to be a bit brighter, if not a lot more obedient and hard working. And they know enough to kick you in the face if you mean them ill will. Some people suck, some horses suck. Such is life.

Otteration posted:https://horseandrider.com/horse-health-care/latest-research-on-how-smart-horses-are Well, I don't think any horses suck per se, I just hadn't been of the opinion they were especially smart. But, I've been wrong before; that said, I don't know if kicking someone when they get mad is a sign of intelligence ( )

Some horses suck, some don't, like the rest of us. And they don't just kick when they're mad (well, maybe the some of the dumb ones do), but they will kick you when they figure you're up to no good and are about to hurt them or pounce on them like a cougar (like the rest of us might too). https://i.imgur.com/HNdMR48.mp4

( ) Also, as a cat, horse, and cougar lover, they will all kick your rear end if they detect you mean them harm. Strange parallel evolution between predator and prey going on.

It was an unorthodox move but it didn't break any rules, much like allowing a dog to play basketball.
