Yeah, I was a substitute teacher during the whole "Charlie Charlie challenge" thing, where kids supposedly contacted ghosts through balancing pencils on one another or something. We got a note one day saying that all discussion of it by the children was now banned, because some Concerned Parent showed up at a school board meeting and said they had HEARD that it was convincing kids to cut themselves and stab others and poo poo. I lived pretty close to the community where those girls stabbed their classmate on orders from Slenderman, though, so maybe people there were just real jumpy about scary fake internet things.
