Isn't part of the reason the Keralan Communists are so successful (both in policy success and in holding power) is they basically gave the Soviet led global communist movement the bird to form their own Communism with Blackjack and Hookers? I suppose it would at least give them a way to stay out of Cold War proxy conflicts like Yugoslavia did.

The CPI(M) did correctly told the revisionist Soviet Union to gently caress off but the biggest part of their success is they never stopped developing class struggle even when in government, something the Tripura and West Bengal branches forgot and they imploded last elections

In the 1980s and 1990s, Kerala’s migrant workers found employment building highways and skyscrapers in the gulf. These days, their better-educated successors fill jobs overseas as accountants, nurses, lawyers, doctors and mid-level civil servants. More than a third of Kerala’s gross domestic product last year came from remittances. These migrants are remaking Kerala’s culture. One of the most popular programs on local television is “World of Expats,” a reality show that helps distraught family members find relatives who have gone missing in the gulf region. They are also remaking the state’s humble landscape. Kerala is a place where big, gated homes — “gulf houses” in the local lingo — sit next to simple ones. Many of the big homes are empty for much of the year, while their owners are abroad working. One government study from 2011 estimated that there were nearly 1 million empty or partially occupied homes. Meanwhile, Isaac worries about a shortage of housing for the poor. Less than a mile from the spot in the village of Pinarayi where the party held its first clandestine meeting, Prasanth Cherambeth, 40, and his wife, Saniga, 36, had just arrived from Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates, and were celebrating the opening of their six-bedroom home. Much closer to fulfilling the vision ofMarx-Leninism than the revisionist USSR by bringing prosperity to the keralan working class by educating them and exploiting global job opportunities in such places like Saudi Arabia and Dubai

Kerala's government is pretty unique among state governments in India in actually using it's revenue for social devlopment, medical care and welfare effectively instead of it just being eaten up by corruption.

Sounds socdem to me exactly except whereas norway exports commodities like oil it has in abundance karelia exports human capital it has in abundance, surplus value produced are appropriated by worker's government for the sake of the working class obvsly. Unlike in other Indian states when surplus is only used for the benefit of the bourgeois and international capital.
